Hi Karina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always worked for someone since the age of 16. I married my high school sweetheart and although we both had jobs we really loved we both had other passions. When he decided to pursue his own business it pushed me to do the same. While still working I started posting on social media outfits I’d wear and showing how one can wear certain pieces in different ways. Posting mostly on YouTube when I first started then on Instagram and TikTok. I started growing a platform in fashion and lifestyle. I love accessorizing and would get questions about my jewelry all the time. Since jewelry can really elevate any look, in my opinion, I thought, “I should sell affordable jewelry”. I wanted to be able to provide affordable and durable jewelry that could be worn daily and with any look. After some research and planning I started the process to open an online store that offers trendy durable piece at affordable prices. Adalina and Co is in its second year of business and I’m excited to still be able to provide trendy and classic pieces at good price points. I have also started incorporating some custom handmade items. Looking forward to growing my business more locally and attending more markets in my area this year.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have been very lucky to have a great supportive and encouraging group of people around. The social media presence I currently have has really helped jumpstart my online business.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As I have mentioned, I wanted to be able to provide jewelry pieces that could elevate a look but not brake the bank. I love finding pieces that are both affordable and great quality. As a mom I want to put on a piece of jewelry, or in my case lots of pieces, and not think about it. Doing things outdoors in the Texas heat, going swimming or going to the gym without worrying about needing to take any of my jewelry off. That is why I decided to source stainless steel jewelry that is gold plated, making it hypoallergenic and fade free. This is a fraction of the price of a solid gold piece but still as beautiful
