Today we’d like to introduce you to Prynce P.
It was a hot August in 2001 when Prynce took a trip to Atlanta so he could visit his homie DJ Royal M. M was a famous DJ in Atlanta and was throwing a few big parties that weekend. After 2 days of partying, Prynce and M were hanging out at Royal M’s studio when M decided to play an instrumental that one of his producers had recently made. Prynce closed his eyes and started to freestyle to it for fun. Royal M paused the beat, turned to P and said “P, you can flow?” P responded with, “I just have a little fun, nothing serious.” Royal M replied with “P, go in the booth and do exactly what you were doing.” P looked at Royal M and said “Bro, I have never recorded nor even know what to do, I just have fun with music.” Royal M said “Homie, you have something special, just go in the booth and follow my instructions.” Prynce not knowing that this night would start his musical career went inside the booth and recorded his first track. Prynce had an early flight to D.C. so he left Atlanta without any expectations. A week later, Royal M contacted Prynce and said “Homie, I dropped my verse and I had an R&B singer do a hook. We just uploaded this track and it has already gotten over 100,000 downloads in less than a week!” Prynce being shocked of the feedback decided to catch another flight to Atlanta so he could have a meeting with Royal M and a few of his friends in the industry. After a few trips and many phone calls, they decided to start a music label and work on a few tracks together.
Within a year, they had enough songs to do shows with and their popularity started to grow more and more. By 2003, they were selling out shows state to state but by 2004, Prynce P and Royal M decided to split apart due to conflict in regards to where each wanted to take their craft. Royal M signed with an international label and moved to Los Angeles as Prynce started to work on his solo project. In 2009, Prynce released his first mix-tape which sold roughly about 10,000 units in the streets. He had a few radio plays but Prynce knew deep down that he had much more to offer.
In 2011, Prynce got a chance to be in the studio with one of his favorite rappers of all time, Spice 1. Prynce grew up listening to Spice who had sold 3 Gold albums worldwide. This was a dream come true as their single “My Gift N Curse” beat out 10,000 submissions and earned an exclusive interview with 97.9 The Beat. A year later, Prynce was introduced to platinum rapper, Lil Flip who sold over 23 million records. They went into the studio and recorded a song entitled “In The End” which was downloaded over 5,000 times in its first 3 months of release.
In 2013, Prynce collaborated with Bizzy Bone of the Grammy group, Bone Thugs~N~Harmony as their single “On Fire” played on 8 radio stations. In 2014, Prynce decided that he wanted to work with either Twista or Paul Wall. He put out a survey on his social media page and over a 1000 people responded. Since Prynce is from TX, his fans chose Paul Wall. Prynce went into The Valley of the Kings Studio and met with his management team as they discussed this project. They decided to put a crowdfund and within 3 weeks, they met their goal. Next step was to contact Paul Wall’s management team to set this up. They all decided that they would meet in Houston and a few weeks later, the collaboration was finalized. Prynce decided to fly in one of Brooklyn, NY’s hottest rappers, P.Reyes along with bringing in the local popular band, Loyal Sally and super producer, Billy Syn to bless the production. The song went on to be played on 9 radio stations as Prynce P’s popularity started to grow more and more.
After the success of P’s 3 hot singles, he decided to meet with the studio again as he wanted to work on a full album. P didn’t want just a simple album, he wanted 10 tracks with some of his favorite rappers, singers and producers to feature on it.
In 2016, P released the biggest Hip-Hop compilation out of Dallas, TX with 34 rappers, singers and producers. He named his album 14 and 5 of 10 tracks went on to hit every Dallas radio station. In 2017, Prynce decided to release visuals for the album and rented The Angelika Movie Theatre to show case them on December 2nd, 2017. Their theatre room was more packed than any movie playing that night and on December 2nd, Prynce revealed that he was working on the biggest Dallas Hip-Hop cypher which he planned to release in 2018.
Currently, Prynce is in the studio with Big Tuck, Mr. Pookie, Headkrack, Keynote, Motian, Eclipse Darkness, Teleoso, Ritchy Flo, Rakim Al Jabbaar, Alsace Carcione, Microphone Lewis, Bobby Fisha, Billy Syn and IQ Muzic uniting some of the hottest rappers out of Dallas on 1 single. Stay tuned!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth road? Hahaha…. anything from hard drives crashing, to getting rejected from many radio stations early on to having technical difficulties when doing a show to having financial issues, man, the list can go on and on and on and on… if this was easy, everyone would be doing it.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pohectic Life Records – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

02. In 2006, Prynce P recorded a song for Chuck Norris and his fighting show, “The World Combat League.”
03. In 2011, Prynce P’s single “My Gift N Curse” beat out 10,000 submissions and had his track play on 97.9 The Beat.
04. In 2012, Prynce P along with Kou and Motian, recorded a song entitled “Star Crossed” which was downloaded over 997,930 in less than 8 months.
05. In 2012, Prynce P received an award from Amnesty International for his contribution to humanity.
06. In 2013, Prynce P collaborated with Grammy rapper, Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs~N~Harmony as their song “On Fire” hit 8 radio stations.
07. In 2013, Prynce P released his single “My Paradise” which was featured on Chanel 33.
08. In 2013, Prynce P received an award from Congress Woman Johnson and of The House of Representatives for his single “My Paradise.”

In 2014, Pohectic Life Records and The Valley of the Kings Studio recorded a song with Houston legend, Paul Wall entitled “And Things Will Never Be the Same…” which hit over 9 radio stations in less than 2 weeks. This single also won one of the hottest singles released by an independent label on 97.9 The Beat, making him the first artist out of DFW to have ever earned two wins.
10. Pohectic Life Records released their long awaited album entitled “14” on 10/14/16 which features 34 musicians. As of today, this is the biggest compilation Hip-Hop album out of Dallas, TX, history.
11. In 2017, Prynce P was on the cover of Javanan Magazine (Biggest Persian magazine) in the world. Issue #1352, December of 2017.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am stepping away as a recording artist and focusing more into doing voice overs, commercials and artist development. I have personally met all of my challenges and feel as I need to venture into new things within the industry. I never put all of my eggs in one basket…
