Hi Jerrett, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always say my story didn’t start in the dental chair. It started with a calling. I was born in Dallas and raised in Oak Cliff, where I learned early the value of resilience, creativity, and service. But the turning point in my life didn’t come from a procedure or a business idea. It came from a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
Growing up, music was my passion. It was how I expressed myself and connected with others. Dentistry wasn’t even on my radar. I pursued it with discipline, earning my DDS degree from Baylor College of Dentistry, but I didn’t realize it was my true calling until I found faith in Jesus four years ago. That moment changed everything. It wasn’t just a belief for me. It became a walk that had to be lived out and implemented in every area of my life.
That revelation birthed a new purpose. I launched Rose Aesthetics not just as a cosmetic practice, but as a ministry rooted in excellence, healing, and restoration. From that foundation came Manifest Your Smile, our nonprofit that provides free dental care and mentorship, and I-Lift, a movement focused on spiritual leadership and legacy building.
Today, I also lead Stewarding Dental Network, a kingdom-driven dental support organization that helps doctors build faith-aligned businesses with the systems, resources, and community they need to thrive. DARKCon was born out of that same mission. It’s more than a conference. It’s a movement to equip, educate, and inspire.
Outside of dentistry, I’m still a musician and designer. I believe healing and purpose can show up through creativity. Whether I’m restoring a smile, writing a song, or building a system, everything I do flows from one truth. Obedience to God is greater than sacrifice. And when you walk with Him, your gifts become your ministry.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. It started out with purpose, but somewhere along the way, I got caught up. I became involved and consumed with cultural and worldly standards. I stopped standing apart and began to camouflage myself into the very same trauma I had worked so hard to escape. I was chasing validation, caught up in nightlife and flashes, until my conscience deteriorated to the point where even my family and friends couldn’t recognize who I was.
I was truly battling spiritual warfare. I wasn’t just lost in distraction. I was wrapped up in trying to feel good, trying to numb what was really going on inside. Everything looked successful on the outside, but on the inside, I was empty.
That all came to a head when I was shot in 2020. It was a wake-up call that forced me to confront myself. I realized I had some deep internal work to do. That moment didn’t break me. It refined me. I wouldn’t call the journey smooth, but I can say the trials have polished me into the God-fearing man I am today.
I’m still growing. I still have work to do. But now I move with the understanding that when I am weak, I am made complete through Jesus. My strength is not my own. It comes from the One who saved me.
