Rising Stars: Meet Carlie Ramsey of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlie Ramsey.

Hi Carlie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Sips by Carlie started as a fun little creative outlet just me in my kitchen mixing drinks after work and posting them for fun. I didn’t have a plan at first, but I quickly realized I was onto something. I wasn’t just making cocktails, I was creating an experience.

Over time, I taught myself photography, editing, and how to actually show up online in a way that felt true to me. Now it’s grown into a full-blown brand where I get to tell stories, experiment, and connect with people who vibe with what I’m building.

It’s not just about the drinks it’s about the energy. I’ve turned something I love into something real, and I’m just getting started.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road. I started Sips by Carlie with no fancy setup, no background in content creation, and honestly no idea what I was doing. I had to learn everything on the fly: editing, lighting, building a brand, staying consistent… all while working full-time and managing my own health after bariatric surgery.

There were plenty of moments I wanted to quit, especially when I felt like the growth wasn’t happening fast enough. I’ve dealt with burnout, comparison, tech issues, and the struggle of balancing creativity with consistency. But every time I pushed through, I got better.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make cocktail and mocktail content through my brand, Sips by Carlie. It’s not just about the drinks it’s about the vibe, the aesthetic, the story behind every pour. I like to say it’s soft girl energy with a little chaos mixed in. From faceless reels to themed series like “Hot Girl Happy Hour,” I love bringing drinks to life in a way that feels fun, intentional, and a little unhinged (in the best way).

What sets me apart is that I do everything myself concepts, filming, editing, posting and I do it while working full time. I didn’t wait to be an expert or have the perfect setup. I just started with what I had and figured it out along the way. That’s what I’m most proud of showing up consistently and building something real from scratch.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting Sips by Carlie was a risk in itself. I was showing up online without a huge following, expensive equipment, or a content plan just vibes and a shaker. Putting myself and my creativity out there when I didn’t know if anyone would care? That felt risky. But I did it anyway.

I also took a chance on myself by deciding to treat this like a real brand not just a hobby. I invest my time, energy, and money into this even when the ROI isn’t always immediate. That’s the scary part about building something from scratch there’s no blueprint, no guaranteed outcome.

But I’ve learned that some of the best things in life come from betting on yourself. Every time I’ve leaned into that discomfort, I’ve grown. So yeah, I guess I am a risk-taker I just make it look cute.
