Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Sanchez.
Hi Carla, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Mexico, where I earned my degree in psychology. For years, I struggled with emotional eating and used food as a way to numb pain I didn’t know how to process. I carried the weight of that — physically and emotionally — for a long time.
When I moved to the U.S., I went through one of the hardest transitions of my life: new country, new language, no support system. That season forced me to face myself. I started healing, moving, and slowly building a new relationship with my body — one fueled by strength instead of shame.
I became a certified Personal Trainer, later a Firewalking Instructor, and now I’m finishing my certification in Nutrition Coaching. I created The Right Mind The Right Move because I believe true transformation begins with the mind — and I know firsthand how mindset, movement, and self-compassion can change your life.
Today, I work with women — especially Latinas — helping them build strength from the inside out. I’m honored to also serve as a Master Trainer at Adaptive Training Foundation, where I train athletes with disabilities to push past physical and mental limits.
It’s been a journey of resilience, reinvention, and purpose — and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road — but every struggle has shaped who I am today.
Moving to a new country with a different language and starting from zero was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I left behind everything familiar — my culture, my career — and had to rebuild not just a life, but a sense of identity.
On top of that, I was carrying the emotional weight of years of using food as comfort. I didn’t realize how much pain I was suppressing until my body started reflecting it. There were moments of deep self-doubt, isolation, and the fear that maybe I wasn’t meant for more.
But I’ve learned that discomfort is a powerful teacher. Every breakdown — emotionally, physically, mentally — was an invitation to grow. I had to heal my relationship with myself before I could help others do the same.
And that’s exactly what drives me now — turning pain into purpose and helping others find strength in their own struggles.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m the founder of The Right Mind The Right Move, a wellness brand rooted in the belief that true transformation begins in the mind and is embodied through movement. I work primarily with women — many of whom are struggling with low self-esteem, emotional eating, or feeling disconnected from their bodies — and help them build strength physically, mentally, and emotionally.
What sets my approach apart is the integration of psychology, strength training, and mindset coaching. I’m not just here to help someone lose weight or gain muscle — I’m here to help them reclaim their power. We focus on self-worth, discipline, and healing from the inside out. I also specialize in training Adaptive Athletes — individuals with physical disabilities — and that work is one of the greatest honors of my life.
My brand is known for its compassionate intensity — I push my clients to become stronger, but I also create a safe space where they can be seen, supported, and empowered. I’m most proud of the stories: the women who thought they couldn’t, and now lift heavy weights with confidence; the athletes who walk again; the ones who find their voice and stop shrinking to fit into anyone else’s expectations.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: you don’t need to be ready. You just need to be willing. I’ll meet you where you are — physically, emotionally, and mentally — and together, we’ll build the version of you that you’ve always known was possible.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me it’s measured by alignment. It’s waking up every day and knowing I’m living a life that reflects my values, my purpose, and my healing.
Success is being able to say: This is who I am. This is what I believe in. And I’m doing it with love, discipline, and authenticity. That, to me, is everything.
