Conversations with Lesley Grant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lesley Grant.

Hi Lesley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi y’all!
I’m Lesley Grant, the owner of Simply Eventful. I started assisting my Sister in law in 2021 with weddings. She was the original owner and founder of Simply Eventful. When her husband became terminally ill in 2023, she asked me to take over. I was so scared! Could I do it? What if I failed? She had so much faith in me which in turn pushed me out of my comfort zone and here we are!  I truly hope I make her proud.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been smooth! But what is? Going from just showing up the day of the event and setting up, assisting guests & striking at the end of the night to full on planning every tiny detail for a year or more before are 2 completely different worlds. But, I learn something new each wedding and every couple is different. I wouldn’t trade this for anything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I like to build deep trust with my couples and vendors alike. I feel this ensures a smooth execution day and we can avoid too many unforseen things. There will always be bumps in the road, but being able to remain calm under pressure ensures we find a solution and get right back on track. In this business you are a Coordinator of Chaos and have to be ready for anything that may arise.
We provide superior wedding planning services in Northeast Texas and the surrounding areas. My specialty is an eye for detail and to provide couples with a lifelong memory to cherish when recalling the best day of their lives. Something else that sets us apart- we offer linen & full decor rental.  We have the lowest prices around. Free pick up is available in Rockwall & Sulphur Springs, and delivery is also available.
At the end of the night when the bride/family/guests are telling us how beautiful everything looked, what a great time they had- this is what I’m most proud of.
We love our brides! We become lifelong friends with them, setting us apart from someone you just hire for a job. We rejoice with them in happy times and mourn with them in sad times.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
There isn’t just one!

• You have to have thick skin.
• Don’t take everything to heart.
• Always have a backup plan. Have a backup plan for your backup plan!
• It’s all in the details.
People may forget what color napkins were on the tables, but they’ll never forget how we made them feel.
• Be kind to yourself and give yourself some grace.
