Meet Jennifer Adams of Haute Beauty Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Adams.

Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a Certified Nurse Practitioner and the owner/founder of Haute Beauty Aesthetics, I began my aesthetics journey in early 2017, part time, in a med spa in Dallas while working full time in the Emergency Room. I got into aesthetics because I love making the patient feel more confident about themselves, but also because I am a long time user of all the services found in a med spa and passionate about the difference they can make in one’s’ appearance. I continued aesthetics part time all through COVID, then finally decided in 2021, after a 20 year career in the Emergency Room, that I was burnt out with ER and wanted to be all in with aesthetics. I wanted to open my own med spa, but didn’t want the huge overhead of a brick and mortar building, so decided on a single room in a shared salon suite space. I had seen my previous med spa spend millions on a gorgeous office, but they ultimately failed because they didn’t have the business coming in to support it. I decided to do things the exact opposite. Naming a business is almost as hard as naming your children, and I keep coming back to the initials of my kids, Henrik & Brooklyn Adams. HBA. Haute Beauty Aesthetics. Haute to convey the luxury experience I want my patients to have. Beauty and Aesthetics is the type of business we do, Hence my business was born.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have had a few part time injectors work for me over the past few years, which did not work out for various reasons. At the moment, I have no interest in bringing on any additional injectors unless they can be at my skill level and as dedicated to their craft and continuing education as I am.

I have chosen to focus my business so far on only injectables and medical quality skin care services. I have been approached many times by various reps about buying this laser or that radiofrequency microneedling machine. These machine are extremely expensive ($200K +) and the idea of them sound great, but I have yet to find one that has impressed me so much with their results that I feel ok asking patients to spend thousands of dollars on a treatment. I have seen a big machine purchase be a death wish to colleagues so I have been firm in saying that I will stick to injectables and be the best at them, and not get in over my head with big fancy machines.

We’ve been impressed with Haute Beauty Aesthetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Haute Beauty Aesthetics is a boutique luxury med spa that is committed to enhancing our patients’ natural beauty with proven, safe aesthetic treatments. We believe the aesthetic journey starts with a comprehensive consultation and individualized treatment plan based on the patient’s areas of concern. We believe this includes educating our patients about each treatment, including what it is, what it does, how it is done, and realistic expectations. Haute Beauty Aesthetics specializes in anti-aging and skin health treatments using neurotoxin, dermal filler, collagen-stimulating fillers, PRP, microneedling, chemical peels, facials, Hydrafacial, hair restoration, and medically managed weight loss.

Our med spa is different from other med spas because patients are with their provider (myself or my amazing esthetician Olivia) from start to finish. We check them in, help them complete any paperwork, complete their service, and check them out. We build time into the allotted service appointment times for a full face consultation, education of the patient about their service, and utilization of all the reward programs available to help decrease service cost. We are not a Botox factory trying to get through a patient every 15 minutes like many med spa chains. Patients are not rushed through their services with us, and we love getting to know them and having time to chat about life. Our patients become our friends. This customer service experience at HBA is unlike anywhere else. We also do not nickel and dime patients to drive up their invoice. For example, I offer a dental block with lidocaine for lip filler at no additional charge. We also give an aftercare kit for collagen-stimulating treatments, microneedling, and lip filler that is included with the service.

Along with the services we offer, we carry three different medical grade skin care lines – ZO Skin Health, Alastin, and Colorescience. We also carry treatments for at-home hair restoration, such as the Theradome LH80 Red Light laser helmet, Xtressé hair supplement gummies, and the AnteAge MD Home Hair System. We have also just brought on the technology to turn a patient’s blood in to a volumizing, collagen stimulating platelet-rich plasma (PRP) gel, called PRP DermaGel, which adds volume in a completely natural way with no additives, as well as offering plant-based exosomes.

My goal for Haute Beauty Aesthetics is for our patients to walk out of our door feeling more confident about themselves. I want them to feel like they have a thorough understanding of the service(s) they just received and transparency about what our recommendations are and their cost. I always tell patients, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is your aesthetic journey. Aesthetics is just that, a journey.

How do you define success?
Success is seeing a patient smile when I hand them the mirror after a filler or PRP DermaGel procedure. It is watching them cry because they didn’t think they could look this good again. Success is hearing my kids tell others that their mommy makes ladies look beautiful again and that mommy owns her business. It is growing a business from 14 patients in my entire first month to 20+ patients in a single day. Success is knowing that I did this, all of this, all on my own.

Cheers!
