Today we’d like to introduce you to Devyn Gaudet.
Hi Devyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has a few different threads that all tie back to one thing—helping people see what’s possible for themselves.
I first fell in love with photography in high school, starting in the darkroom, and by the time I was 20 I was showing in local galleries and working as an architectural photographer. How I got my start in architectural photography was through real estate photography, which eventually opened the door for me to step into real estate myself. In 2021 I became a licensed real estate agent, and I love helping people not just find a house, but see the home and life they want to build inside of it.
That same year, I also joined FemForce as a photographer. Instead of leaving real estate photography behind, I added portraiture to my repertoire. Now I get to help female entrepreneurs feel confident in front of the camera and proud of how they show up in their businesses—empowering them to tell their stories visually. I now serve as the General Manager of FemForce.
Around this time, my family and I started training at Cornerstone Martial Arts in Arlington. What began as an activity “for the kid” quickly became a passion for me as well when my partner and I joined as students. I fell in love with the philosophy, discipline, and community of Tang Soo Do. Today, I am a black-belt and I serve as General Manager at Cornerstone, where I get to help students of all ages grow in confidence, leadership, and resilience. My whole family trains together, which makes it even more meaningful.
So whether it’s behind the camera, helping someone buy or sell a home, or working on the martial arts floor, everything I do comes back to the same mission—helping people grow into the best version of themselves and showing them what they’re capable of.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road—but I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs. Balancing multiple roles has been one of my biggest challenges. Between being a real estate agent, serving as Education Director at my brokerage, leading FemForce as General Manager, and running Cornerstone Martial Arts, all while raising a family, there have been plenty of moments where it felt like there just weren’t enough hours in the day.
Another struggle has been learning to quiet that inner voice that says I have to have everything “figured out” right away. In real estate, photography, and martial arts, there’s always a learning curve, and it took me time to embrace growth as a process instead of expecting perfection from the start.
And like many women in leadership, I’ve also had to navigate being underestimated at times—whether it’s in a male-dominated martial arts space or in business. Instead of letting that discourage me, I’ve learned to use it as fuel, to keep showing up consistently, doing the work, and proving not only to others but to myself that I belong in the room.
Lastly, finances get tight at time pursuing careers of passion.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but the challenges have shaped me into someone more resilient, more disciplined, and more committed to helping others do the same.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In real estate, I help people find more than just a house—I help them find a home and a vision for their future. As the Education Director at Kimberly Adams Realty, I also get to guide and mentor other agents, which is incredibly rewarding. I’m proud of the trust I’ve built with clients and colleagues by leading with education, honesty, and support.
In photography, I’m the General Manager at FemForce, where I specialize in branding and portrait photography for female entrepreneurs. My work is about so much more than photos—it’s about helping women feel confident in how they present themselves and their businesses. I’m most proud when a client tells me they not only love their photos, but that the process made them feel stronger and more seen.
And in martial arts, I serve as the General Manager at Cornerstone Martial Arts. We focus on helping kids, teens, and adults build confidence, discipline, and leadership through Tang Soo Do. What sets our school apart is that we see martial arts as a tool for life transformation, not just self-defense. My proudest moments are watching students grow into leaders, both on and off the mat.
What sets me apart across all these fields is that I don’t just focus on the service—I focus on the person. Whether it’s through buying a home, stepping in front of a camera, or training in martial arts, I’m always asking: how can I help this person step more fully into who they want to be?
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that growth isn’t always comfortable—and that’s a good thing. Whether it’s stepping in front of a camera, buying your first home, or walking onto a martial arts floor for the first time, the moments that feel the most intimidating are usually the ones that lead to the biggest breakthroughs.
I’ve also learned that you don’t have to do it all alone. Collaboration and community have been everything for me—mentors in real estate, teammates at FemForce, and the family I’ve found through martial arts. Having people who support you, challenge you, and believe in you when you’re still learning to believe in yourself makes all the difference.
At the end of the day, the lesson that guides me is this: discipline and consistency will take you further than motivation ever could. Success is built one step, one rep, one photo, one conversation at a time.
