Sabrina Moormann shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One of the biggest misconceptions about my business is that I’m simply taking pretty pictures. What I actually offer is a highly curated, luxury experience that goes far beyond the camera. From the moment a client inquires, every detail is designed to make them feel seen, celebrated, and cared for—whether it’s helping them select couture gowns from my client closet, arranging professional hair and makeup, or crafting heirloom-quality artwork that will last for generations.
People often don’t realize the depth of planning, expertise, and emotional connection that goes into each session. Especially with newborn and maternity photography, there’s an incredible amount of trust involved. I’m not just documenting a milestone; I’m preserving a fleeting moment in a family’s life in the most meaningful and artistic way possible. It’s about legacy, not just imagery.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sabrina Moormann, and I’m the founder and artist behind White Lavender Photography, a luxury portrait studio based in Flower Mound, Texas. I specialize in fine art maternity, newborn, and underwater photography—offering a full-service experience that is both personal and refined.
What makes my work truly unique is the heart behind it. I started this journey over 16 years ago, inspired by the early days of motherhood with my own two daughters. Since then, I’ve photographed hundreds of families and have been honored with international recognition for my artistry. But what matters most to me is creating timeless, museum-quality portraits that celebrate love, connection, and legacy.
It’s never just about the images—it’s about how you feel during the process. From couture wardrobe styling and professional hair and makeup to handcrafted heirloom artwork, every detail is thoughtfully designed to give my clients a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable experience.
Right now, I’m also expanding my work to mentor other photographers around the world who want to elevate their craft and create luxury experiences for their clients. Whether I’m behind the camera or guiding others in their journey, my mission is always the same: to preserve life’s most meaningful moments through beautiful, lasting art.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In today’s fast-paced world, what often breaks the bonds between people is disconnection. We get caught up in the routines of life, in schedules, stress, and screens—and sometimes we forget to pause and truly see one another. Moments slip by, and so do the feelings and memories that keep us close.
At White Lavender Photography, my work is rooted in restoring those bonds. I create space for families to reconnect, to slow down, and to be fully present with one another. Whether it’s a maternity session celebrating the anticipation of new life, a newborn session capturing the earliest expressions of love, or an underwater session honoring the strength and beauty of motherhood—each experience is designed to go far beyond just taking pictures.
I offer a luxury, full-service experience where families feel seen, celebrated, and deeply cared for. From the pampering of professional hair and makeup to the selection of couture gowns and the creation of heirloom artwork, every element is intentionally curated to reflect the connection that matters most.
When clients see their portraits—those quiet glances, soft touches, and moments of real emotion—they’re reminded of what binds them together. These images don’t just decorate walls; they become anchors of love and legacy, helping to restore what the rush of life may have tried to dim.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
I used to believe that success in photography was all about perfecting the technical side—lighting, posing, editing. And while mastery of the craft is absolutely essential, I’ve come to realize that what truly matters—the most important part—is the experience I create for my clients and how I make them feel.
This shift in mindset changed everything about the way I run White Lavender Photography. I stopped focusing solely on beautiful images and started crafting meaningful, luxury experiences—from the first inquiry to the moment my clients hold their heirloom artwork in their hands. I now understand that people don’t just want portraits—they want to feel valued, celebrated, and connected during one of the most meaningful seasons of their lives.
That change in perspective helped me grow—not just as an artist, but as a businesswoman and a human being. It’s why my sessions are now deeply personal, emotional, and intentional. It’s not about perfection—it’s about legacy.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
As someone who was born and raised in Germany, one cultural value I protect at all costs is reliability. To me, being dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented isn’t just about professionalism—it’s about showing respect. My clients trust me with some of the most meaningful moments of their lives, and I take that responsibility to heart.
At White Lavender Photography, everything I do is grounded in precision, care, and intentionality. I’m a perfectionist by nature, which means every detail—whether it’s the flow of a gown, the softness of a newborn wrap, or the final polish of a printed heirloom—is thoughtfully curated. But more than that, I’m deeply committed to creating an experience that feels calm, supportive, and lasting. I don’t just aim to deliver beautiful images—I build relationships that often turn into lifelong bonds.
These values—being on time, following through on my word, and nurturing genuine connection—aren’t just part of my upbringing; they’re the heartbeat of my business. My clients often tell me they feel truly cared for from the first email to the moment they see their artwork on the wall. That, to me, is the highest compliment I can receive.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I deeply understand just how fleeting certain moments in life truly are—and how important it is to preserve them with intention and care.
Most people don’t realize how quickly memories fade: the way your newborn’s hand curled around your finger, the glow of anticipation during pregnancy, the quiet, unscripted moments of connection between loved ones. These aren’t just stages—they’re once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I’ve seen firsthand how meaningful it is to hold onto those memories in a tangible, lasting way.
That’s why I pour so much heart into every session at White Lavender Photography. I’m not just creating pretty pictures—I’m documenting legacy, emotion, and love in its rawest and most beautiful form. I’ve learned to anticipate the in-between moments most people miss, and I’ve come to understand that true luxury isn’t just about style—it’s about soul, and about giving families something they can hold onto when time keeps moving forward.
