We recently had the chance to connect with Stephanie Paul and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’ve learned that structure is my superpower. I start with gratitude — before I even touch my phone, I thank God for waking me up, cover my children in prayer, and speak affirmations over my purpose.
Next, I pour into myself. I might listen to gospel music and journal. Once I’m grounded spiritually, I switch into strategist mode. I check overnight sales for Just Like Pearls, review my business inbox, and figure out my moves for the day. By the end of those 90 minutes, I’m either making breakfast for my babies or walking into my home office with an orange juice and a plan. I don’t start chaotic — I start aligned.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Lady Steph, a proud mother of five, a multi-passionate entrepreneur, and the CEO of Just Like Pearls Beauty and MLS Enterprises Texas LLC. My journey started with pain, purpose, and prayer. I turned my trials into a testimony, and now I help other women do the same through confidence, beauty, and business.
What makes my story special is that I’m building all of this from the ground up while being a full-time mom, while healing, while showing my kids that their last name means something. I’m currently founding The Betty Pearl Foundation, and launching my new YouTube series What the Biz, Lady Steph?! so that I can help other mothers and women alike to change for the better also.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Losing my grandmother, Betty Pearl, was the moment that shifted everything. She was the heart of our small family. She strong, soft, wise, and full of love. When she passed, I found myself not only grieving her loss but realizing the importance of legacy, protection, and generational strength. That’s when I truly woke up to how fragile life is… and how vital it is to build something that lasts beyond us.
It lit a fire in me to educate, empower, and equip others, especially single mothers and aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge to protect what they’re building.
It’s why I’m passionate about wealth, ownership, and walking in purpose. That moment didn’t break me — it built me.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. More than once. There was a season where I was running on empty. Emotionally, financially, spiritually. As I was building Just Like Pearls, taking care of my kids, grieving my grandmother, and trying to keep everything afloat, I was pouring into everybody else, but barely had anything left for myself. I remember crying in silence, thinking, “Maybe I’m not built for this more than once or twice.
What broke me down the most wasn’t failure though, it was feeling unseen. Like I was giving my all and still not being supported or understood. I almost gave up on my dreams, my business, and honestly, on myself.
But then I looked at my children… and remembered my why. I remembered the promises I made to God, to my grandmother, and to that little girl in me who deserved to win. I realized I wasn’t just building a brand — I was building a blueprint for other women to follow. That gave me the strength to get back up and keep going, even when it didn’t make sense.
Now, every win hits deeper because I know what it took to get here.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to building The Betty Pearl Foundation — a legacy project named after my grandmother that’s rooted in healing, protection, and purpose for our community. No matter how long it takes, this foundation will stand as a safe space for women, single mothers, youth, and our senior citizens. It’s not just a nonprofit, it’s a promise.
I believe every woman deserves to feel seen, supported, and spiritually covered. I believe our elders deserve honor, and our children deserve a head start, not a setback. Through this foundation, I’m creating programs that provide mental health support, financial education, community outreach, and resources that actually reach.
What makes it special is that it was born from pain. Whether it’s helping a young mom with housing, supporting seniors with legal guidance, or mentoring girls to walk in confidence, this mission is lifelong.
Even if it takes me 10 years to build the full vision, I’m not letting go. Because legacy can’t be rushed, it has to be rooted!
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they say, “She didn’t just build businesses… she built people.” I want to be remembered as a woman who showed up for others when no one else did. Someone who turned her pain into purpose, her struggle into strategy, and made other women believe they could do the same.
I hope they talk about how I poured into my children and gave them a foundation of faith, wisdom, and wealth. That I was soft, but never weak. Strong, but never unreachable. And that I loved people with intention.
Whether it’s through Just Like Pearls, The Betty Pearl Foundation, or the way I made a stranger feel seen in a 30-second conversation. I want people to remember that I left the world better, fuller, and more faith-filled than I found it.
Because I didn’t just want success, I wanted significance.
