An Inspired Chat with Porsha Elliott of Forney

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Porsha Elliott. Check out our conversation below.

Porsha, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People think tax preparation is just data entry—but it’s actually strategy, compliance, and trust-building.

Many clients underestimate how much knowledge, ethics, and long-term planning go into truly serving clients well. It’s not just plugging in numbers—it’s understanding tax law, helping people stay compliant, identifying opportunities for savings, and building relationships based on accuracy and professionalism.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, name is Porsha Elliott better known in the tax industry as “Coach P.” I am the CEO/Founder of Colossal Tax Solutions and Service Bureau of Colossal Tax Software. Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that doubted my worth, second-guessed my decisions, and played small to make others comfortable has served its purpose—and it’s time to let it go.

It taught me how to be cautious, how to survive, and how to navigate uncertain seasons. But now, I’m stepping into alignment, clarity, and boldness. I no longer need to shrink to succeed.

What’s ahead requires a stronger, freer version of me—and I’m ready.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I almost gave up last year went through a bad business separation. What I thought was a good business decision two years ago ended up being a horrible ending. What I thought was growing for me was robbing me blind. The situation impacted me mentally, emotionally & was making decisions to close business. Couldn’t find myself trusting anyone in the business anymore. But that experience also gave me strength I didn’t know I had to help my business survive.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what really matters to me is:
✨ Purpose over popularity
💼 Building something that lasts
❤️ Being real, not perfect
📈 Helping others grow while I grow
👩‍👧‍👦 Family, faith, and legacy

They know I care deeply about showing up with integrity, staying true to my vision, and creating impact—not just income.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would hope the story people tell about me when I’m gone is how determined I was to be successful and I wanted to help everyone be successful as well. I extend myself so much to people sometimes pour more into others then I do myself. Hope people would tell how it was appreciated. I work hard very hard to build my Colossal organization I would want to be recognize for how far the organization have grown.
