Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dr. Angela Perini of Addison

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr. Angela Perini. Check out our conversation below.

Dr. Angela, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One of the biggest misconceptions about chiropractic care is that it’s only for relieving back or neck pain. While pain relief is often one of the first things patients notice, chiropractic care goes far beyond that. It focuses on restoring proper alignment and function to the spine and nervous system, which allows the body to heal and regulate itself more effectively.

When the nervous system is functioning optimally, many aspects of health can improve—including sleep, digestion, energy levels, and even mood. Patients often report feeling less stressed, and more resilient overall. Chiropractic care is about enhancing quality of life and helping people live at their full potential.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely! My name is Angela Perini, and I’m a corrective care chiropractor dedicated to helping individuals and families not just feel better, but truly live better. Through my clinic and as part of the MaxLiving movement, we focus on more than just short-term symptom relief—we work to identify and correct the root cause of health issues through the spine and nervous system, and empower our patients to take control of their long-term well-being.

What makes our approach unique is the integration of the Five Essentials of Health:
1. Core Chiropractic – to restore proper alignment and nervous system function,
2. Nutrition – to fuel the body with real, healing foods,
3. Mindset – to cultivate a positive, resilient outlook,
4. Movement/Exercise – to build strength, energy, and endurance, and
5. Detoxification – to reduce toxic load and support cellular function.

We believe that the body is designed to be healthy, and by removing interference and providing the right environment, healing happens naturally.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of the most powerful moments in my life was when I graduated from chiropractic school and passed all my board exams. English is my second language, and going through such a rigorous program while raising my children made the journey incredibly challenging. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion, but I kept going because I believed in the calling and purpose behind what I was doing.

Now, years later, hearing my own son—who is starting chiropractic school himself—say, “Wow, this is a lot… how did you do it?” fills me with an overwhelming sense of pride and strength. It reminds me of how far I’ve come and how much can be accomplished with faith, hard work, and perseverance. That moment, both then and now, made me feel truly powerful.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have definitely been difficult moments along the way—times when the challenges felt overwhelming, especially moving to the U.S., going through chiropractic school, facing language barriers, growing my business, and raising a family. But despite it all, I never truly considered giving up. Deep down, I’ve always known where I want to go. I have a clear vision, and I’ve held on to it.

God has always shown me the way, even during the most difficult times, and that faith has been my greatest source of strength.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe so. I strive to live a life that is congruent with what I teach in my practice. I preach what I practice—whether it’s through chiropractic care, nutrition, mindset, or overall lifestyle. I do my best every day to be a genuine example of the principles I share with my patients.

That said, I’m not perfect. I have my challenges like everyone else, but I remain committed to growing, learning, and showing up as authentically as I can. I believe that being real—even with imperfections—is the most powerful way to lead and inspire others.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do. I love what I do with all my heart. I’m a people person, and there’s nothing more fulfilling to me than empowering my patients to live healthier lives, create strong habits, and understand that health is the greatest asset we have.

Helping others heal and guiding them toward a better quality of life is my passion—it’s my purpose. I can’t imagine ever retiring from this work. As long as I’m able, I will continue doing this because it’s not just my profession—it’s my calling.
