Story & Lesson Highlights with Stefanie Davis of North Fort Worth

Stefanie Davis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Stefanie , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are sacred. I start with hot yoga to ground myself (HA!), then enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, and finally spend time on the back porch with my dogs. It’s my way of creating balance and calm before the day gets busy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Stefanie Davis, the owner of Hey Gorgeous Hair Salon in Fort Worth. For me, this brand has always been about more than just great hair—it’s about creating a space where people feel beautiful, confident, and genuinely cared for. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 23 years, and I still love the blend of artistry and connection this work brings every day. We’re now growing in exciting ways, adding injections, PDO threading, and facial services. I’m especially excited to welcome Riley Erin to our team—she’s an incredible expert in esthetics whose energy and passion fit the Hey Gorgeous brand so perfectly. Together, we’re building a place that’s not only about beauty, but about joy, confidence, and community.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think the biggest thing that breaks the bond between people is a lack of communication—when we stop listening to each other or start making assumptions instead of truly understanding. Trust can also break when words and actions don’t line up. What restores those bonds is honesty, empathy, and a willingness to show up with humility. Taking the time to really listen, admit mistakes, and extend grace goes a long way. At the end of the day, most people just want to feel seen, heard, and valued—and when that’s restored, so is the bond.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I used to miss the ‘good ol’ days’—life before smartphones and social media felt simpler. But I read something that said, ‘These are the good ol’ days,’ and it hit me. It reminded me to enjoy this moment, thank God for the blessings, learn through the trials, and let the blessings outweigh the hard parts. One day, even these messy moments will be the memories we cherish.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think a lot of smart people today get so caught up in being right that they forget to just love people. We focus on opinions, debates, and doctrine, but at the end of the day, what changes hearts is kindness. I always say, ‘Love them to the Lord.’ 1 Peter 4:8 says, ‘Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.’ If we could lead with love instead of proving points, the world would look very different.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Right now I’m planting seeds for the future by expanding into medical esthetics—building a full injection side with services like Botox, fillers, PDO threading, and advanced facial treatments. Bringing on Riley Erin, an expert and educator, has been a huge part of this vision. It’s not something that pays off overnight; it’s about building trust, educating clients, and creating a space where beauty and confidence meet. In 7–10 years, I see this as a cornerstone and a legacy of growth for Hey Gorgeous brand.
