An Inspired Chat with Stephanie Hobbs of Little Rock, Arkansas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stephanie Hobbs. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Stephanie, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
What’s often misunderstood about fashion and personal styling is the work behind it. People assume it’s just “picking outfits” or telling someone what looks good. In reality, when you hire a stylist, you’re paying for more than clothes—you’re paying for their time, eye, and expertise.

A stylist studies body types, understands fabrics and fit, stays ahead of trends, and knows how to balance a client’s personality, lifestyle, and budget. They’re curating, sourcing, tailoring, and often educating along the way. It’s hours of planning, research, shopping, and fitting—so that the end result looks effortless.

You’re not just buying a look. You’re investing in someone’s skill to translate who you are into what you wear.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Stephanie Hobbs, founder of Style Me Stephanie—a brand built to help women, especially those 40 and up, feel confident and stylish with my signature twist: A Pop of Color. Since launching in 2018, my mission has been to inspire, motivate, and educate you through the world of fashion.

Along the way, I’ve been featured on the cover of Huami Magazine Arkansas, highlighted in numerous publications and podcasts, and recognized as a go-to fashion expert. I’ve proudly served as a Brand Ambassador for Bag It Up Boutique and currently represent SBDNC Apparel, based in Atlanta. I also collaborate as a style influencer and content creator for powerhouse brands like Sam’s Club, Walmart, Target, and Amazon.

In 2024, I stepped onto the stage as a speaker, sharing my journey at The Girlfriend Conference-Sister Friends United Inc. in Las Vegas. That same year, I was named URBANE Magazine’s Finest Fashion Stylist of 2024. I also brought my styling expertise to the Arkansas Style Lifestyle Talk Show as Fashion Coordinator and Stylist.

In this whirlwind fashion scene, I’m your go-to resource for making sure you’re always stepping out feeling fierce and fabulous. Together, we can create fashion moments that are nothing short of magical.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents and grandparents taught me the most about work. From them, I learned that hard work isn’t just about effort—it’s about discipline, consistency, and pride in what you do. They showed me that nothing worthwhile comes easy, and the results you get are the direct outcome of the energy you put in. Their example taught me to push through challenges, stay committed, and take responsibility for every task I take on.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There were so many moments I almost gave up. Times when I was staring at overdue bills, wondering how I’d make it through the month. Times when layoffs left me questioning my worth, my stability, and even my future. Life has a way of hitting all at once—financial stress, uncertainty, and that heavy, quiet voice whispering, “Maybe this isn’t for you.”

And I’ll be honest, I almost listened.
Walking away would have been easier. Letting go of the vision would have saved me the heartache, the sleepless nights, the worry about how everything would come together. But deep down, I knew I couldn’t quit.

Because my calling is bigger than my struggles. I know I’ve been placed here for a purpose—to help women look and feel their best, inside and out. I believe there are women waiting for me, women who may not even know me yet, but are counting on me to show up for them. To be a reminder that they are worthy of confidence, beauty, and strength no matter what life throws their way.

Every time I’ve thought about giving up, I come back to this truth: my story isn’t just about me. It’s about the women I’m meant to reach. And if I quit, I wouldn’t just be giving up on myself—I’d be letting them down too.

So I keep going. Through the hard days, the setbacks, and the moments of doubt, I rise again. Not because it’s easy, but because my purpose won’t let me quit.

And if you’re reading this and you’ve ever felt like giving up, I want you to know—you’re not alone. The fact that you’re still standing, even when everything tried to break you, means there’s more ahead for you too..

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is my true self. I remain authentic in every setting and in everything I do.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Yes, I’m doing what I was born to do. I was placed here with a purpose: to help women look and feel their best—inside and out. I know there are women waiting for me, some who don’t even know me yet, but who are counting on me to show up. To remind them that no matter what life brings, they are worthy of confidence, beauty, and strength.
