We recently had the chance to connect with Michelle Randolph and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Michelle, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recieved the impact award from the north american classic six horse hitch series for my contributition to the industry.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Michelle Randolph and I’m an equine photographer for the draft horses. I have shot 3 world shows in 3 countries and shows all over the united states and canada. I have produced 2 table top books and have had many of my images on semis, trailers, beer can, candy bar, a deck of cards, feed tubs and a boat. I’m all about promoting the draft horse breed and using my images to help that.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A shy person who wouldn’t talk to anyone.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Many times. People would use my images to cause trouble, tail docking, hoof care, creating negativity. Some photographers don’t have the same ideas I do and don’t agree with me promoting instead of selling.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Promoting the draft horse breed.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
She shot with her heart and was the memory maker of the draft horse world.
