Story & Lesson Highlights with Niteria Fox of Rowlett

We recently had the chance to connect with Niteria Fox and have shared our conversation below.

Niteria, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire me—because I’m dependable, skilled, and passionate about what I do. I take pride in delivering quality work, staying consistent, and always showing up ready to grow and elevate every opportunity I’m given

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Niteria, a natural hair specialist and weave artist passionate about healthy hair and personalized service. My brand is all about helping clients feel confident and cared for. Whether in the salon or on location, I focus on quality, consistency, and creating beautiful, lasting results. Right now, I’m expanding my brand and sharing more of my work with the world—stay tuned!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Auntie Linda Faye saw me clearly before I ever saw myself. She always spoke life into me and believed in my potential early on. She let me practice and sharpen my skills by doing her hair, no matter what stage I was at. When I was just 13, she gave me my very first cosmetology book—planting the seed for everything I’m doing now.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You will get through this. You are stronger than you know, and your success is already written. Don’t give up, little one—your future is bright.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m fully committed to my growth, healing, and becoming the best version of myself—no matter how long it takes. Every step I take is part of a bigger journey toward alignment, peace, and purpose. It’s not just a goal—it’s a lifelong commitment.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What light inside you have you been dimming?
I’ve been dimming my confidence and creativity—playing it safe instead of fully owning my light. But I’m learning to stop shrinking myself to make others comfortable. My voice, my vision, and my talent deserve to be seen and heard.
