Ashley Earle of Springtown, TX on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Ashley Earle and have shared our conversation below.

Ashley, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Reading and at home Pilates! These two things are bringing me a lot of joy lately. I have always enjoyed reading, however recently my mentor and I are reading a book together and meeting up biweekly for discussion and it has been lovely. Pilates at home on YouTube has been an almost daily thing in my life for almost a year now. I am getting stronger everyday and overall my well being has improved tremendously. The greatest part is it is free!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi Beauties! My name is Ashley and I am the Owner/CEO of Bewitched Beauty & Brows LLC in Springtown, TX. I offer multiple services including lash lift, brow lamination, tints and waxing. I hope to add facials to my list in the near future. My husband and family helped me in building my dream beauty bar, more commonly known as a “she shed.” I am a home based esthetician but don’t let that scare you. I have created a space that is inviting and relaxing.

The thing that sets me apart from others in my love for Fall/Halloween. The inside of my beauty bar is decorated in fall colors and brings a cozy vibe to every appointment. I am also a christian so you are sure to hear worship music playing in the background. I send every first time client home with a little goodie bag in addition to 10% off your first service!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was probably around 14 years old. I started classical Ballet when I was 3 years old and around the time I was 14 is when I truly started to excel in this craft. I would perform in multiple dance shows several times a year. At this point in my dancing career I started to be selected for starring roles in these performances and given more responsibility and critique in my ability. I would practice nonstop and would receive recognition in my roles beyond just my family but from other dancers and instructors as well. I felt confident and powerful in my skill and it was the most freeing and rewarding experience. I continued dancing until I was 18 at which point I had began the terrible ordeal of burnout and no longer had the drive or desire to continue at the same rate and stamina I once had.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
One thing I would say to my younger self is to stop stressing about the little things. Life is hard and there is a lot of stress and pressure everyday. Why add on to that? I am currently reading a book titled “Tired of Being Tired” by Jess Connolly and it is very eye opening. A lot of the reason I am tired all the time is not caused my anything other than myself and how I allow life to burden or stress me out. God gives us rest when we are open and willing to receive it.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
My faith in God is something that is just so hardwired in my brain that explaining it is like trying to explain the air. We know it’s there and that we need it. In the same way God is always there and we need Him. I may feel angry and frustrated with my situations at times and lash out to God, but he always has a bigger plan. Sometimes we are just too close in view to see it. “Most often the sanctified route is the scenic route,” spoken in a Sunday sermon by my preacher Cody. The long way is usually the way that you will walk in regards to a lot of aspects of your life. When it’s waiting on healing from pain and illness to always being told no at job interviews. The closed doors do not mean one is not going to open, it just means we have to be patient and wait for God’s plan to work out.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop stressing the small stuff. I would stop taking life so seriously and enjoy all the moments. I wouldn’t worry about the house needing all clean all at once or that the one glass in the sink needs to be washed. I wouldn’t worry about people pleasing other people too much but truly doing what brings me joy regardless of the reaction of others.
