Story & Lesson Highlights with Arpitha Neravetla

Arpitha Neravetla shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Arpitha, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes, the moment I knew that, we are the HEB quest for Texas best 2025 finalist. It brought so much joy and tears at the same time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Arpitha Neravetla. I grew up in Hyderabad, a vibrant South Indian city celebrated for its rich, aromatic cuisine.
The heart of Indian cooking lies in fresh, perfectly balanced spices, and I learned their magic watching my mother and grandmother transform everyday meals into something unforgettable.
From them, I discovered the art of roasting and grinding spices, and how a single green cardamom pod can elevate a humble bowl of rice. When I moved to the United States, I missed those familiar flavors. I began blending my own spices in my kitchen to create traditional recipes using high-quality, thoughtfully sourced spices, first for myself, then with the dream of making them accessible to others. That’s how Spicytude was born.

Spicytude makes authentic Indian cooking easy with curated spice kits, step-by-step recipes, and video instructions removing any guesswork.
We also craft our signature Chai Masala, a perfectly balanced blend for a warm, aromatic cup of comfort.
Our mission is simple: make flavorful Indian cooking accessible to everyone. We source premium spices, blend them in perfect proportions, and guide you to create delicious dishes at home.
Founded in July 2020 with Garam Masala and expanded to multiple spice kits by August 2023, we’ve learned directly from customers through our farmers market participation. Every day, we’re inspired to develop high-quality products that introduce Indian flavors in fresh, exciting ways. Customers and quality remain at the heart of everything we do.
My dream with Spicytude is simple — to make flavorful Indian cooking easy and accessible for everyone.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I believed that our education and work describes who we are and what we do.
I no longer believe that, because I realized as we grow and get exposed to many different experiences, our thoughts change and magic happens when we finally know what we really want to do.
Life is an adventure so get out of that comfort zone and keep experimenting and take on new challenges every day.
Our inner voice is always showing us the direction you need to go.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That we are always alone in every battle we face and we are lucky if someone believes in us and understands us.
But it rarely happens, so stop complaining, be responsible and get over your self pity and become strong in every way you could to face the challenges in life. These were my lessons.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Integrity and self respect.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Building Spicytude with customers as our main focus.

Pro actively thinking about the issues or hurdles one may face while cooking Indian food and offering solutions to each problem.

Our efforts may not be recognized immediately but I am sure our quality of work will speak for itself and it may take years sometimes for others to notice and that is okay.
