Scott Sean, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a full-time songwriter splitting time between my home in Poetry, TX, and Nashville, TN. And I tour all over the country, playing 120-150 shows a year and putting about 60k miles/year on my car haha! I’ve had some songs recorded by Cody Johnson – three as a matter of fact, and several by a newer artist, and friend of mine – Bryan Martin. I’ve put out two albums of my own so far – decidedly Singer-songwriter/Americana and I am working on my third studio album right now.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My parents – as much of a mess as they were. And brothers and my sister. They all had a crazy strong work-ethic and I definitely inherited that.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Haha oh yeah. Several. Early on – the reason I didn’t was that I didn’t want to set the example of giving up for my kids. Later… and now… it’s simply because I’m gonna make it work one way or another. I’ve never been more sure that I was made to do this – so I just gotta figure it out. I have “burned the boats” I guess you could say 🙂
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Maybe all of it hahahaha! I’m trying to build a fan base playing nothing but my own songs that I wrote. Being completely 100% ME. And I am not everyone’s cup of tea. No one is. So… I have to find and make new, true fans at every show (hopefully) and build it slowly. No covers. Just me and my songs and my story.
