Today we’d like to introduce you to Chayne Hilton.

Hi Chayne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always known that working for someone else wasn’t where my heart was. I was employed by a roofing company that specialized in fluid-applied reinforced roofing systems, and while the pay was decent, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more out there for me—something I could build on my own.

Driven by that desire for independence, I began exploring similar trades with low startup costs. That’s when I discovered sealcoating—a process that protects and extends the life of asphalt surfaces by 15 to 30 years when reapplied every 2–4 years. The concept was simple, the value was clear, and I saw an opportunity. Starting out was anything but easy—as with any new venture—but I dove in headfirst and never looked back.

At the time, my daughter was just three years old. She’s four and a half now, and everything I do is for her future. My initial goal in launching this company was deeply personal: to become the first in my family to create generational wealth. Growing up with very little, I made a promise to myself that my daughter—and her children, and theirs—would never have to struggle the way I did.

While that mission still drives me, something even deeper has emerged along the way. As I’ve grown both personally and professionally, I’ve realized that no matter how big my company becomes, my true purpose is to become the kind of person for others that I wish I had when I needed it most.

I owe a great deal to a kind, older man who believed in me early on. He gave me a loan when I had nothing but ambition and potential. Without his trust and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today—and I carry that gratitude with me in every step of this journey.

This business is bigger than just profits or projects. It’s about building a legacy—of resilience, of opportunity, and of giving back.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has been anything but smooth—especially when it comes to cash flow. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced more than a few financial hurdles. But what’s made all the difference are the relationships I’ve built along the way. The people I’ve met—mentors, clients, collaborators—have had a greater impact on my growth than any dollar amount ever could.

There were moments when just keeping the business afloat felt like a battle. But through every challenge, I’ve held onto one core belief: no current low will ever be lower than my last high. That mindset is what fuels me. It reminds me that setbacks are temporary, but resilience is what creates lasting success.

Every connection, every lesson, and every obstacle has played a role in shaping the foundation of this company—and for that, I’m grateful.

  • $0.17-$0.25 a Square Foot for Sealcoating
  • $0.25-$0.35 a Linear Foot for Crack Sealing
  • Striping starts at $0.35 a Linear Foot but becomes complex with other aspects
  • Pothole repair varies depending on depth and total Square Footage
