Rising Stars: Meet Eliseo Hinojos of NORTHLAKE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliseo Hinojos.

Hi Eliseo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The North Texas Church of Christ was formed from the merging of two different non denominational congregations. The Argyle Church of Christ and The Alliance Church of Christ merged in January 1, 2017. Both congregations recognized the potential of serving their community so much better if they combined forces. We have been blessed with tremendous growth since 2017. We are now a congregation of 200 Christians who love God and the community that we are in. As a people we have three goals. We desire to Build relationships with God, each other, and our community through our faith in Jesus Christ. We want to Inspire spiritual commitment from one another and those that visit us. And finally, we endeavor to Grow in God’s love more every day.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The merging of two different faith community came with challenges. As in any blended families conflicts and differences of opinions arose. But, thankfully, God worked through us as we gave grace and love to one another. We worked out the differences and are now completely dedicated to serving our community through teaching, counseling, helping, and becoming the center for help and evangelical efforts.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My name is Elise Hinojos. I have been ministering in Churches of Christ for 22 years. Guided by God I came to work with The North Texas Church of Christ in October of 2020. As we came back from covid and all of its restrictions we became stronger and more dedicated than ever before. My wife Blanca and I are extremely blessed to work with this amazing group of Christians who hold as first priority to love God through Jesus Christ and then to serve our fellow neighbors.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is sitting in worship while listening to my grandfather preach in small churches in rural northern Mexico.
