Rising Stars: Meet Beatrice Pruett of Fort Worth, TX 76137

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatrice Pruett.

Hi Beatrice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Beatrice Pruett, I became an ordained minister in November 2024 to marry my brother and his girlfriend. They have not decided on a wedding date, but I like to be prepared. I registered with American Marriage Ministries. I purchased the books and read all of them. I was hooked. I told myself I can do this. I enjoyed crafting my brother and his girlfriend love story. I loved it so much that I decided I can do this more frequently. Bear Hugg came to life one night when I was telling my daughter that I wanted to keep being a minister and marry couples. Writing their love story gives me such warmth and meaning. She was so encouraging, She even designed my Bear Hugg logo. Bear Hugg is a play on my name, and I am a hugger. I did some research, I wrote my mission statement, marketing plan, target audience, and networking within a week. Now it was time for action. I created my online presence, www.bearhugg.com. I registered with The Knot and WeddingWire. I also have a Facebook and Instagram account. I am not tech savvy so this was a big deal for me.
My first lead booked my services in March 2025 and their wedding date in April 2025. I was so thrilled of the prospect of crafting their love story and ceremony script. They were so sweet and knew this was my first time performing the ceremony. I was so nervous, butterflies in my stomach. Once it was time to perform the ceremony, the butterflies were gone and I just gave it my all. It was beautiful. I will always be grateful to them for giving me the chance. Since then, I have done 5 weddings. I have 8 weddings booked for 2025-2026. When my brother and sister decide on a date, I’m ready, I’m sure I have to update their love story, but I will be ready.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was 3 months in before my real lead came though. I say real due to some leads are not. You spend a lot of time on email back and forth when you realize it is a scam. So I became quickly aware what to look out for. There are a lot more of I am no longer interested to let us book you today from engaged couples. That is okay, I keep at it everyday. One day at a time.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work for a great company. 9-5pm work schedule as a senior vendor representative. My side hustle as an ordained minister/wedding officiant/celebrant is my passion. I truly love crafting couple’s love story. Hearing their vows and witnessing their love gives me purpose. I truly believe giving the best customer service sets me apart. I make sure to hear their vision of their wedding. I listen to their love story. I make sure I answer their emails or texts in a timely manner. I tell each couple, this is your wedding, your vision, your marriage. I will create the best ceremony script based on your wishes. I am here for you.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
When I was younger, I was an introvert, believe it or not. I loved reading. Reading was my safe place. I loved libraries and book stores. Romance novels are one of my favorites. I loved the happy endings. Fairy tales are the best. I’ve met so many wonderful people through work and volunteering. I found myself less intimidated, volunteer more, and joined committees. I am a very compassionate person with empathy. I am a very good listener. I may seem pretty reserved and a bit of an introvert, but I come out of my shell when I need to. I love my quiet time with a book or my Kindle and crafting love stories for engaged couples.
