Today we’d like to introduce you to Esther Amonor.
Hi Esther, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
By the grace of God, after graduation I moved to Dallas, Texas, to work full-time at an architecture firm. But I quickly realized that studio life and real life were very different. I needed more than what my 9-to-5 was giving me to fully express my creativity.
One day, a church friend asked for my thoughts on his next drop for his clothing brand. I was excited to help. One meeting led to another, and I eventually became the official creative designer for Scary But Beautiful Studios (SBB Studios). As people found out I was designing for SBB, others began to inquire if I could help bring their own visions to life.
My friends encouraged me to start promoting myself and to explore other creative avenues (surrounding yourself with the right people really does matter). I had an old photography page from college that I decided
Creativity has always been with me since childhood. Throughout all my pre-college education, taking an art elective was a requirement, and I was always so grateful for that. By the time I graduated high school, I knew I couldn’t go through college without a creative outlet, so I chose to study Architecture—among many other reasons, of course. Architecture school ignited my creativity even more.
to revamp and rename Amonor Inc.—a name I originally created for a school project. Fast forward to today, and Amonor Inc. has evolved into Amonor Ink—a name that now perfectly reflects what the business is all about: design.
I love what I get to do: creating meaningful art, brand packaging, designing merch, and helping people express their unique creative visions with clarity and depth.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think the road to your passion is ever easy. Life brings challenges, business challenges, mental hurdles, and client-related obstacles. Personally, I’ve also faced the weight of comparison and seasons where I didn’t think my work was good enough. That mindset can be paralyzing if you let it.
But with every challenge comes the opportunity to grow, not just in your craft, but out of the old version of yourself. Over time, I’ve learned that growth isn’t always comfortable or glamorous, but it’s necessary. And looking back, I see that the very things I thought would break me were actually refining me. The challenges weren’t roadblocks; they were building blocks.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full-time entrepreneur, creative designer, and storyteller. Through Amonor Ink, I specialize in brand design, merchandise, and digital content that help individuals and faith-based brands bring their visions to life with clarity, meaning, and beauty.
I’m most proud of how this work has grown beyond myself. What started with a single project has become a platform where people feel seen, heard, and understood through visuals. Whether it’s helping a church launch meaningful merchandise or working with a founder to bring their brand identity to life, I consider it an honor to be trusted with someone else’s vision. That trust is what fuels me to keep creating with purpose.
What sets my work apart is the intention behind it. I don’t just design to make things look good, I design to tell stories that resonate on a deeper level. I believe that great design should not only be seen but also felt. Every project is approached with spiritual sensitivity and a desire to glorify God through creativity.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my community. I find joy in being surrounded by their smiles, and I’m especially fulfilled when we have deep conversations about our faith and share how we see God moving in our lives. I also love going on spontaneous adventures with friends and capturing life on my film camera.
