Exploring Life & Business with Derrick Silmon of DL Naturals LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Derrick Silmon.

Hi Derrick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Derrick Silmon, and I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, now reside in Arlington. My journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t something I planned it was something life pushed me toward.
From 2021-2025 I underwent multiple surgeries from my shoulders to my feet due to on the job injuries, and instead of healing, the medication I was prescribed left me in worse pain than before. It was one of the lowest points in my life.

By 2022, I knew I had to take my health into my own hands. I began researching holistic healing, with a particular focus on the power of herbs and natural remedies. What started as a personal quest to relieve my own pain quickly became a passion and eventually a purpose. I realized that so many people go through similar struggles—relying on medications that mask symptoms rather than addressing root causes. Through holistic healing, I found real relief and a renewed sense of balance in my body and mind.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting from scratch was definitely a challenge. I had to learn everything from studying herbs, reading book and holistic practices to figuring out how to run a business.

At times it was overwhelming, but every obstacle pushed me to grow.
It’s also a challenge to mustard up the strength to garden, and grow some of the herbs, while dealing with the pain.

The biggest challenge, though, was turning my personal pain into purpose. It’s not easy to share your struggles openly, but I know my testimony can inspire others to consider new paths to healing, and not just rely on medication. It’s a lifestyle change.

We’ve been impressed with DL Naturals LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At DL Naturals, we specialize in holistic healing through herbs and natural wellness practices. Our focus is on helping people find relief, balance, and overall better health without depending solely on synthetic medications that often mask symptoms instead of addressing root causes.

DL Naturals was built from lived experience. My own health struggles pushed me to dive deep into herbal healing, so everything I share comes from both research and personal transformation. I know what it feels like to be in pain and searching for answers and that perspective allows me to connect with people in a real way.

We’re known for offering herbal blends, natural remedies, and educational resources that support the body’s natural ability to heal itself. But beyond the products, what makes DL Naturals unique is the mission: to educate and empower people to take control of their own wellness journey. I have an evaluation on my website so I can get to know the person, understand the concern and come up with a way to help.

I’m most proud of the impact we’re making in people’s lives. Hearing someone say they finally found relief, or that they feel more energized and balanced because of DL Naturals that’s what drives me. I love feedback because I want to continuously improve based on new medical findings. I am not a doctor but I believe and I am living witness to what holistic health has done for me and other’s I have helped.

What I want readers to know is that DL Naturals isn’t just a business it’s a movement toward natural healing, self-care, and taking back control of your health. Whether you’re looking for alternatives, curious about holistic wellness, or ready to start a new path in your health journey, DL Naturals is here to support you.

My Motto is Sip Slow Heal Deep.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice for finding a mentor is to look for someone whose journey inspires you not just in business, but in life. The best mentors aren’t always the ones with the biggest titles; sometimes they’re people who’ve been through the struggles you’re facing and can give you honest, real guidance. I’ve connected with people via social media and people I have encountered along this journey. I decided to add on to my credentials by studying at The Trinity School of Natural Health.
