Hi Alan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Alan Lowman spent 11 years as a classroom teacher in the Dallas area, guided by an incredible group of mentors who helped shape his practice. With their support, Alan’s students consistently achieved success, and before long, other schools began reaching out to learn from his approach.
In 2018, after seeing the materials Alan created for his own students, several schools asked to purchase his resources—and Lowman Education was born. What started as one teacher’s classroom tools has since grown into a team of 35 people, creating high-quality content for Math, Science, Reading, and Social Studies tailored specifically for Texas teachers. Today, their resources can be found in over 800 school districts within the state.
Teaching is deeply rewarding, but it’s also demanding—teachers spend countless hours preparing lessons and resources. Lowman Education’s mission is to save educators time by providing simple, effective materials that make teaching easier and more impactful.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The past couple of years have been remarkably smooth, thanks entirely to our phenomenal team. They bring both exceptional intellect and a strong spirit of collaboration. That said, growth has not been without challenges. As we’ve scaled rapidly, the demand for customer service, new product development, technology enhancements, communication, and training has increased proportionally. This has increased pressure on our team, making it challenging to balance strategic infrastructure improvements with the need to prevent burnout while still serving our teachers effectively.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lowman Education LLC?
At Lowman Education, our whole focus is on helping Texas teachers save time and raise their students’ state test scores. We specialize in creating simple, structured resources that teachers can use every day in the classroom. Teachers love our materials because they’re straightforward and easy to implement—especially compared to many educational resources that often feel overly complicated.
We’re also known for taking the stress out of test prep. Teachers don’t have hours to create lessons and reviews from scratch, so our Warm-Ups, Lessons, Exit Passes, Assignments, Study Sheets, and STAAR® Blitz reviews are all designed to plug right into the classroom. Everything mirrors the state test format, so students get constant, meaningful practice in the way they’ll actually be tested.
What sets us apart is that we’re built specifically for Texas educators. We’re not a generic curriculum company—we zero in on the state test, and we care just as much about student confidence as we do about results. Teachers often tell us that our resources not only help their students grow but also help them feel more energized and prepared. That’s what makes the difference.
Another thing that sets us apart is that we don’t just provide resources—we also invest in teachers through free professional development trainings. We host these sessions virtually and in person throughout the year, providing educators with practical strategies they can implement right away.
What I’m most proud of is that our brand feels relatable. In education, you can either speak in a way that feels “fancy” or you can keep it down to earth—and we’ve built a reputation that is down to earth.
