Hi Cristian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first got into landscaping 9 years ago working with my father in law who was in business for 20 plus years. I fell in love with landscaping the first full week I worked with him. I worked with Miguel for 3 years, learning everything I could from him! He then pushed me to start my own business and so I did. I started off part time running and operating my landscaping business. For 3 years I worked a full time afternoon job while doing my landscaping in the morning part time. I saved up as much money as I could with my full time job to invest into my landscaping business. After 3 years of working both jobs, I finally decided to make the leap of faith and go full time on my landscaping business! It was nerve wrecking but I had to make the decision to put all my focus into doing what I love! I’ve been running a full time business for three years now, servicing over 60 plus reoccurring customers with a handful of fulltime employees.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting off working a full time job as well as trying to run a business part time was very stressful. I lost a lot of time with my family and it was tough on my mental health. After I went full time on my business my mental health did improve and the time I had with my family was everything to me! As all business we still deal with week to week issues. Unfortunately equipment can break down and it all falls on me having to deal with unexpected expenses. All in all we push forward and strive on to build a landscaping business that can serve all with hopes of bringing satisfied customers all across the metroplex.
