Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Elmer.
Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I got into real estate because I’ve always loved helping people and sharing my knowledge of the community I’ve called home since 1982. What began as friends and family asking me for advice turned into a true passion and career. Over the past 12+ years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of families—many of them veterans—through one of life’s biggest decisions. For me, real estate isn’t just about buying or selling a house; it’s about caring for people, building relationships, and helping them open the door to their next chapter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most careers worth pursuing, my road in real estate has not always been smooth. This business can be unpredictable—markets shift, interest rates rise and fall, and client needs vary greatly. Early on, one of my biggest challenges was learning how to balance it all: building a strong client base, navigating contracts, negotiating under pressure, and still being present for my family.
Another struggle has been adapting to industry changes—technology, marketing platforms, and even buyer expectations evolve quickly. I’ve had to consistently invest in learning and growth to make sure my clients always receive the highest level of service.
That said, each challenge has strengthened me. The tough moments taught me resilience, the importance of clear communication, and how to problem-solve creatively. Those experiences are exactly what allow me to guide my clients confidently today, no matter how complex the transaction.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a full-service Realtor® in the North Dallas area, and I’ve been helping families buy and sell homes for more than a decade. Over the years, I’ve guided more than 500 successful closings, ranging from first-time homebuyers to luxury estates. I’m especially passionate about serving veterans through the VA Home Loan program and helping families relocating to Texas.
One thing I’m known for is my hands-on approach. I offer complimentary staging and professional photography on every listing because I believe presentation is key to maximizing a home’s value. I also subscribe to an international MLS that translates into 19 languages, giving my sellers global exposure that many agents simply don’t provide.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about relationships. Many of my clients have become lifelong friends, and much of my business comes from referrals. I also have several trades that I have closely vetted to refer to my clients long after the sale takes place
What sets me apart is the combination of deep local knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a true concierge-level service. I’m there for my clients every step of the way—from the first conversation to the closing table and beyond.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe risk is part of growth, especially in real estate. One of the biggest risks I took was committing to provide complimentary staging and professional photography for every listing—long before I knew if that investment would pay off. At the time, many agents weren’t offering that level of service, and it meant taking on upfront costs with no guarantee of return.
But that risk became one of the best decisions I’ve made. Not only did it help my listings stand out, it also set the tone for my business as full-service and client-focused. I’ve found that when you lead with value and put your clients first, the risks you take often turn into your biggest strengths.
