Meet Margine Biswas of Archiphy Architects and Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margine Biswas.

Hi Margine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey with a deep love for design and a curiosity about how spaces shape experiences. After studying architecture at the University of Texas at Austin and gaining early experience in Dallas, I founded Archiphy Architects and Interiors more than twenty years ago with a mission to create efficient, beautiful spaces that support both business goals and human connection. Over the years, our portfolio has grown to include retail, restaurants, adaptive reuse, and ground-up projects such as Zara, Knox Bistro, and Vidorra/Grand Prairie. What has carried me through is a dedication to craft, listening to clients, consultants and builders, and constantly evolving while staying true to a clear vision.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. In the early years I had to work hard to prove myself and earn trust in a competitive industry, and later I learned to balance the creative side of architecture with the realities of running a business. The 2008 recession tested my resilience when projects stalled, and more recently the COVID-19 pandemic brought sudden uncertainty as clients paused or rethought their spaces. Each challenge forced me to adapt, strengthen relationships, and refine how we deliver value. Looking back, those struggles became turning points that shaped the way I lead my firm today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Archiphy Architects and Interiors?
At Archiphy Architects and Interiors, we specialize in creating spaces that are both beautiful and highly functional, with a strong focus on hospitality, restaurants, retail, new and adaptive reuse. Over the years we’ve built a reputation for translating a client’s vision into environments that not only look good but also work seamlessly for staff, guests, and operations. What sets us apart is our balance of creativity and practicality. We design with the user in mind, making sure ideas can be executed efficiently without losing their impact. I’m especially proud of our variety of projects, from restaurants to national brands and boutique concepts where we’ve helped bring unique experiences to life. Brand-wise, we stand for attentive service, thoughtful design, and long-term value. Whether it’s a ground-up building, a renovation, or a concept that needs to be rolled out at scale, Archiphy brings expertise, efficiency, and a genuine passion for shaping spaces where businesses and people thrive.

How do you define success?
For me, success is about impact and balance. It’s not just completing a project but seeing how the space truly works for the people using it, whether it’s a restaurant that becomes a neighborhood favorite, a retail store that elevates a brand, or an office that helps a company grow. Success also means building lasting relationships with clients who trust us enough to come back with their next idea. On a personal level, I define it as being able to do work I love while leading a team, growing a business, and still making time for family and life outside of architecture. Real success is when design, business, and personal fulfillment come together in harmony.
