Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Ryan.
Hi Emily , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
One of the most frustrating things in this world is not fitting into clothes you were excited to wear.
I am all too familiar with the feeling that comes from something not fitting, and while I wish I could completely remove that feeling from this boutique, I can’t, but I can be real with you. I can be honest and shop to fit the underserved.
My entire life has been filled with inconsistent sizing, shame of going up a size just to have something fit the way I want it to and the ongoing struggle of finding something that compliments my body. I have continually found myself “somewhere in between”. In between a Large and X-Large, in between a 20 something body and post-partum, in between athletic and maybe just a little thicc.
The mission of Wild’R is to find the pieces that make you feel like your best self, that have you spinning around in the mirror, and of course, smiling at the person looking back at you!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business, especially one that you are passionate about, is not for the weak. I kicked off Wild’R during my maternity leave with my second baby, aching for a little creativity (and adult conversations). Knowing where to spend money, how to track taxes and admin things is proving to be a challenge but that’s what a good team is for.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After a run at a national championship in D2 college volleyball, I graduated from Harding University in 2019 with my Bachelors in Business Administration, Marketing. Jumping directly into media sales, I have worked myself into a client success strategist position at a large media company. aid in the business growth of a significant book of business and ensure that the client experience is top tier. My strength is building relationships because you can only go as far as your relationships will take you.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
