Hi Cookie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been baking since I was a teenager—what started with an Easy Bake Oven turned into TTP Cakery, my home-based bakery where I create custom cakes and desserts. Running my business has taught me how to manage clients with big visions, work under tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality results every time.
I also have over 14 years of project management experience, and I bring that same discipline and process-driven mindset into my bakery. So whether I’m building a wedding cake or managing a system conversion, my strength is blending creativity with structure to make sure the end result exceeds expectations.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but that’s part of what makes the journey meaningful. When I first started my bakery, I underestimated how much went into building a business beyond just baking. Marketing, pricing, customer communication—it was all on me, and I had to learn through trial and error.
Another challenge was balancing my entrepreneurial work with my personal life and, at times, other demanding jobs. There were late nights, last-minute orders, and moments where I questioned if I could really keep it going.
But every setback pushed me to grow. I learned how to set clear boundaries with clients, how to systemize my workflow so I wasn’t constantly stressed, and how to market myself with confidence. Those struggles made me not just a better baker, but a stronger businesswoman.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Through TTP Cakery, I create custom cakes and desserts that are as unique as the people and events they celebrate. I specialize in wedding cakes, themed statement cakes, and vegan or gluten-free treats that don’t compromise on flavor. Clients know me for combining bold, luxury designs with flavors that truly wow.
What I’m most proud of is how my cakes have become part of people’s milestones—birthdays, weddings, graduations. It’s more than dessert; it’s helping someone’s vision come to life on a day they’ll never forget.
What sets me apart is the way I blend creativity with structure. Every cake is a project to me: there’s design planning, timelines, and execution. My background in project management means clients get both artistry and reliability. They trust that their cake will not only look stunning but arrive on time and exactly as promised.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is little Cookie in the kitchen with my aunt, watching as she prepared pies, cakes, and cobblers for family gatherings. That’s really what sparked my love of baking. When I got my Easy Bake Oven, I’d spend hours making tiny cakes and cookies, proudly serving them to anyone who would eat them—my poor dad once ate sweet potato pie with a spoon! Eventually, I learned more about proportions and measurements and graduated to the real oven.
Looking back, it wasn’t just about the sweets—it was about creating something that made people smile. That feeling stuck with me and, years later, became the heart of TTP Cakery. It’s why I love what I do today.
