Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina Osorio.
Hi Karina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our journey really started with a passion for creativity and community. Boujee K Boutique was born from the idea of bringing trendy, stylish, and affordable apparel to our local area, with a focus on making every piece feel unique. It began small, with popup shops in West Texas, mainly in our hometown of Lamesa. From there, we grew to appearing inside of AT&T Stadium and eventually to a full boutique. While the boutique is not currently open as we are relocating, it has had tremendous success through collaborations with TikTok influencers like Shawty Bae, including hosting her first meet and greet in Texas while also doing her first merch drop.
While we have been in the process of looking for another place to relocate, we also began KO Wholesale. After building Boujee K Boutique, we saw how many small business owners and creators needed access to high-quality custom apparel and printing services without complicated minimums or long waits. Having been in the same scenario as other boutiques that relied heavily on online vendors, we decided to start KO Wholesale in DFW to provide faster, more reliable, and more accessible solutions. We started offering DTF printing, embroidery, rhinestones, and other wholesale options not just to support our brand but to help other entrepreneurs launch and scale theirs. Today, KO Wholesale supplies apparel for local schools, boutiques, sports teams, and influencers, while still keeping that personal, community-driven approach that got us started.
Both brands have grown side by side because they share the same vision: creativity, collaboration, and accessibility. Boujee K Boutique inspires the fashion side, while KO Wholesale empowers others to build their own. Together, they represent where we’ve been and where we’re going.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been easy. When Covid hit, it affected in-store shopping and we were left continuing to pay high rent costs while remaining inoperable at the store level. That hindered us financially because a big part of our revenue didn’t just come from products, but from our events—private shopping parties, customer experiences such as our paint and sips, and in-store markets where we brought in local entrepreneurs to set up shop for a weekend, sell their products, and collaborate with one another. Losing that was a major setback.
Even before Covid, when we first got our building, the process was far from simple. We fully refurbished the space, replaced an entire A/C system, and invested heavily to make it our own. But before we could even open our doors, we had to wait on our landlord to fulfill his responsibilities tied to new building codes that had passed during our renovations. This delayed our opening for months, leaving us stuck in between while others were grandfathered in and able to keep moving forward. All of this meant we were carrying the weight of expenses without the ability to generate income.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At the heart of everything we do, we owe it all to God. Without Him, none of this would have been possible. We also owe a big part of our journey to our family, who have been there every step of the way—helping us set up for popups, breaking down events, and putting in the hard work that most people never see. Their support has kept us grounded and reminded us to never forget where we came from.
What truly sets us apart is how community-oriented we are. Our brands have always been about more than just business—they’re about giving back and making a difference. When a natural disaster struck back home, we packed up our trailer, bought bulk supplies, and drove them down to donate to those affected. We’ve been blessed to hand out backpacks and school supplies to students in Fort Worth, Burleson, and Crowley. We’ve even been able to sponsor opportunities like Miss Teen Latina 2023, Ruby Garcia, because we believe in uplifting others and opening doors for the next generation.
Boujee K Boutique and KO Wholesale are known for fashion, creativity, and quality printing, but what we’re most proud of is the impact we’ve had on people. Whether it’s through collaborations, events, or simply lending a hand, we’ve made it our mission to pour back into the communities that have poured so much into us.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We’d just like to say thank you to God for guiding us, to our family for standing with us, and to our community for supporting us since day one. None of this would be possible without that foundation. Our journey has had its challenges, but it’s also been full of blessings and opportunities to give back, and that’s something we’ll never take for granted.
For anyone chasing their own dreams, we want to encourage you to stay rooted in faith, surround yourself with people who believe in you, and never forget where you came from. Success isn’t just about what you build for yourself, it’s about how you use it to lift others up along the way.
