Hi Sha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Shurretta Metcalf is a proud mother of two boys, one of whom is on the autism spectrum, and she uses her platform to bring awareness and advocacy to both autism and domestic violence. Her journey in boxing began in the underground scene in 2012, where grit and determination pushed her from humble beginnings to becoming an IBF World Champion after defeating three-time world champion Miyo Yoshida.
Beyond the ring, Shurretta is a serial entrepreneur. She owns a boutique and salon, runs a mobile bartending business, works as a personal trainer, and founded a workout clothing line, Elite Essence, all while also working as a tax professional.
Her success in boxing has brought her to the global stage—she is signed to one of the biggest promotional companies in women’s boxing and has fought on the most historic all-women’s card on Netflix for an undisputed title. Widely considered a legend in her hometown, Shurretta has her eyes set on becoming a two-time world champion.
As a community activist, she leads a nonprofit dedicated to domestic violence awareness and women’s self-defense, while also advocating for autism awareness. Shurretta’s story is one of resilience—she never allows obstacles to stop her, but instead finds a way to overcome them and inspire others to do the same.

No it has not been a smooth road for me but that whats make me great and being a legend in my city. I had to go out there and take it and make things happen for myself.
