Inspiring Conversations with Jade Perry of Marshmallow Popup Parties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Perry.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started in San Antonio, where two college students—Jade and Branden—met, fell in love, and began a journey that would later blend family, faith, and creativity into something truly unforgettable.

Over the last ten years, one of our greatest joys has always been bringing people together. Whether it was Sunday football, family dinners, or game nights, we loved creating spaces where friends and family could laugh, connect, and just be present.

Jade, coming from a long line of entrepreneurs, always dreamed of creating a place where people could gather outside of the living room, but with the same warmth, closeness, and comfort of “living room vibes.” The first spark of that dream came about five years ago, during COVID. But with three young children and the uncertainty of the world, business plans had to wait until the timing—and our family—felt ready.

Still, the dream never left.

After years of hearing Jade brainstorm new ideas, Branden decided to take a leap of faith and officially registered an LLC called Marshmallow Kids—originally envisioned as a mobile soft play company for children under eight, inspired by our own kids at the time. But between full-time jobs, motherhood, and our focus on buying a home, the idea stayed on the back burner.

Then, in early 2024, everything began to align. The kids were older. Our parents were retired and ready to help with babysitting. And for the first time, there was space to dream—and act.

One day, while scrolling through social media, Jade came across a company in Australia showcasing an inflatable venue concept. The idea struck like lightning: a mobile party room—an intimate, all-weather space where people could gather, celebrate, and make memories. Jade turned to Branden and said, “This is it.”

We started researching vendors, ordering supplies, and soon our garage was packed with party gear. Our first launch party with family didn’t go perfectly—it was hot, and we quickly realized there was more work to be done. But instead of giving up, we refined, redesigned, and reimagined the experience.

We hosted free setups for influencers, tested new layouts, and kept showing up online. Slowly, people began to notice. Then, almost overnight, the business exploded. Within a few months, we went from waiting for our first booking to being completely sold out from August through November.

We were running Marshmallow Popup Parties on evenings and weekends, balancing our 9–5s with what we jokingly called our “5–9”—but it never felt like work. We loved bringing people joy, transforming backyards into private nightclubs, and creating moments that families would never forget.

In just 18 months, we’ve set up for CEOs, partnered with incredible clients, and reached hundreds of thousands of people online—all while continuing to grow, learn, and have fun as parents and business owners.

For us, Marshmallow Popup Parties isn’t just a business—it’s a ministry of joy, togetherness, and creativity. It’s proof that with faith, family, and a little hard work, dreams planted years ago can bloom in the right season.

Now, as we prepare to launch our Marshmallow Masterclass to help others start their own mobile party businesses, we’re more inspired than ever. We’re still working, still parenting, still setting up parties—but more importantly, we’re still building our legacy one celebration at a time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No- absolutely not a smooth road. We were not active on social media. With the dream of owning a business also came with posting content on multiple platforms without updated knowledge of the algorithm & without a strong following.

There were challenges with finding items that would set us apart but also remain eye catching.

We have 3 daughters so we had to ensure our schedule worked for us as well as grandparents on Saturday nights.

Setting up an inflatable club in Texas heat, with various backyard layouts is not for the faint of heart. It was also a challenge. Product testing could not occur “on the fly” so we invested in products that worked & products that did not. Learned a lot & spent a lot!

Also- business planning. We had to operate on limited business funds until the business could financially function on its own.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Perry’s specialize in delivering parties to your doorstep. With cocktail tables, glow bars, seating & sound systems- Our inflatable club is a suitable alternative to booking a small venue if you anticipate 30 guests or less.

We also specialize in Tablescapes if you prefer a dinner + club setting in your backyard.

We are proud of the support from likes, shares & referrals. Our new tik tok family encourages us to keep going & we are proud to create a space for families to gather offline & in person.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Actually, the dear future wifey podcast, although it’s not centered around business, has helped grow our marriage so we can continue to work together as one. Yes- there are challenges & we have a difference of opinions but we always remember our why through the discussions we’ve heard on that show.

We’re reminded that with Christ as the center..we can use our talents & gifts for the good. We also attend one community church which fosters having a biblical mindset & displaying Godly principles even through a small business
