Rising Stars: Meet Chelzeé Lentz of North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelzeé Lentz.

Hi Chelzeé, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Chelzeé Lentz is a Texas-based mixed-media artist celebrated for her signature
“dreamscapes”—evocative, layered works that blend symbolic imagery with spiritual resonance.
Drawing inspiration from vivid dreams, the natural world, and inner transformation, her art
creates immersive spaces that invite reflection, healing, and transcendence.
Raised in East Texas and classically trained under regional masters, Chelzeé eventually stepped
beyond the bounds of traditional technique to embrace a more intuitive and expressive visual
language. Her work speaks to the unseen—navigating themes of clarity, restoration, and the
sacred within the everyday.
Now based in The Colony, Texas, Chelzeé maintains an active studio practice, teaches art, and
leads creative community gatherings, nurturing connection through storytelling, symbolism, and
Spirit-centered expression.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Chelzeé Lentz: The Art of Becoming

I wasn’t born into ease or privilege—I was born into a storm. My early years were marked by hardship, instability, and the kind of pain that forces you to grow up too soon. My family’s story took us from the West Coast to the backwoods of East Texas, searching for safety, healing, and belonging. Along the way, I encountered both the darkest parts of humanity and the quiet miracles that kept me alive.

There were seasons of deep loneliness, moments when I almost gave up, and years where survival seemed to be the only art I knew. But even in the chaos, there was a whisper—a sense that my life carried purpose.

Art became that purpose.

It was my language before I had words for the hurt, and my compass when I felt lost. Through creativity, I learned to turn pain into poetry—brushstrokes that told stories of resilience, faith, and rebirth.

It wasn’t an easy road. I worked multiple jobs, pushed through self-doubt, and took the long way to earning my degree. Fear, anxiety, and trauma tried to silence me more than once—but grace kept showing up, reminding me that beauty can rise from brokenness.

Today, I’m both a professional artist and an art educator. I teach the next generation that art is more than color and canvas—it’s courage, it’s healing, it’s freedom. And in my own studio, I create dreamscapes that speak to the soul, weaving light, nature, and spirit into every piece.

My art isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s a reflection of every moment I chose to stay, to breathe, and to believe that something divine was still at work within me.

I’m still becoming—still learning, still healing, still painting my way toward wholeness.
But today, I stand in gratitude. For the storms that shaped me. For the faith that carried me.
And for the art that continues to speak what words cannot and to uplift and transform others

Through my art, I hope to remind others that healing is possible, that light is always near, and that your story—no matter how messy—can still become something breathtaking.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create Multi-Media dreamscapes on canvas. My mission is to create art as a sanctuary—a scared space where transformation, healing, and a divine connection unfold somewhere between real and surrealism. Through dreamlike symbolism and layered imagery, I seek to revel that beauty and peace can rise from the deepest places of change, guided by the presence of the Holy Spirit. My work invites viewers into a mirror of inner awakening. I hope my art not only resonates, but gently moves hearts toward light, wonder, and restoration.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Credit / Dedication Statement:
I give all glory to God, whose hand guides every brushstroke and dream that unfolds through me. To my family and friends—thank you for believing in this journey, for standing beside me through every season. And to the child within me who never stopped creating, even when the world felt heavy—thank you for surviving, dreaming, and painting your way through it all.

“I am forever a prisoner of hope and an incurable romantic—ever chasing the light between what is seen and what is felt.”
