Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Preston.
Hi Emily, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got started in Real Estate in 2018, so going on 8 years now. I knew immediately that I needed to do something that most Realtors don’t/won’t do so I would do 2 to 3 open houses every wknd to get my leads. The first year and a half, I only took one wknd off. Just like anything in sales, it’s a numbers game…I knew if I just kept going no matter what, one open house at a time, I would be successful, and I was. I became a Top Producer at year 1.5 and haven’t looked back since! I still do at least two open houses every single wknd, for approx 20 different Brokerages/Agents through out the DFW area. I book at least two weeks in advance because I have built a unique relationship with the agents whom I’ve worked with over the years. I am a single Mom of girls so failure was/is not an option! Fast foward to 2023, was my best year in real estate closing close to $18M in sales. 2025 will be my second best year at approx $12M in sales. I truly love what I do for a living, and I have no intention on ever quitting. Quite simply, real estate has saved my life in more ways than one!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, with success, comes a lot of failure. In my experience, 50% of my leads/client’s don’t ever get to the closing table for one reason or another. That said, you have to keep going no matter what! Resilience and grit are key in Real Estate as there is an 86% failure rate in Real Estate. I had to figure out what sets me a part from everyone else and open houses were my go to. Thus, #openhousequeen has taken me to where I am today.

How do you define success?
In short, success for me has been changing the lives of me and my girls as a struggling single mom to becoming the Top 1% of Realtors in the DFW area. Helping my clients successfully navigate buying/selling real estate. I believe everyone with a steady job and decent credit should be able to achieve the American dream of home ownership!
