Today we’d like to introduce you to David Maddron.
Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began as a travel advisor in February 2020, just mere days before the travel world would essentially come to a complete stop. That lengthy pause gave me an opportunity to fully immerse myself in the travel industry as a whole and the ability to launch what has now become a multi-million dollar travel business in short time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path of working for yourself is never easy. In the travel industry, change is constant. Business partners change jobs/brands, delays, cancellations, epidemics, and so many other unforeseen happenings. Throw in a person’s desire to no longer want to travel for various different reasons, things can definitely get a bit tense. My role is completely commission based, so if clients don’t travel, I don’t get paid.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a travel industry award winning travel advisor who specializes in family travel in destinations across the world, with a heavy focus on Caribbean destinations. Whether that be cruises leaving from Galveston or flying to incredible destinations like Cancun, Los Cabos, Turks and Caicos, or even the Bahamas; I pride myself in having the firsthand destination experience and relationships to ensure clients expectations are met or exceeded every time!
What does success mean to you?
Success for me has many meanings! It’s a family going on their first vacation together! Success is a couple coming together as one with family gathered in a beautiful destination wedding site! Success is getting a cancelled flight rebooked which allows for a family to come together for an important event! Success is being recognized amongst industry leaders as someone who’s gained the trust of thousands of clients to take care of all the details of every trip! Success is being able to continue providing for my family on a daily basis as a travel advisor!
