Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty C. Welch.
Hi Patty C., we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve loved the world of advertising since I was a junior in high school — something about the mix of creativity, psychology, and persuasion pulled me in early. I went on to attend Texas State University back when it was still called Southwest Texas State. My major was Foreign Language, with a minor in Commercial Design, because my dream was international advertising. Big campaigns. Global reach.
But as life often does, it took me on a few unexpected turns. I landed a job at a local newspaper — and absolutely loved it. There’s something magical about seeing ideas come to life in print. Then came my daughter, and with her, my “why.”
That new chapter inspired me to return to school, earn my Texas Education license, and teach for a few years — a role that taught me just as much as I taught my students.
Eventually, the advertising world called me back. I joined Gigantic Color in Dallas (now Phase 3 Media), a large-format print company where I dove deep into the world of design, materials, and installations. I worked alongside some of the sharpest advertising executives and learned how ideas move from concept to creation on a massive scale.
Fast forward more than a decade — to 2020, the year the world changed. Amid the uncertainty, I found clarity. With encouragement from my husband, and my “whys” now expanded to four kids and two dogs, I launched Whispering Script, my own digital marketing company.
I’m originally from the West Coast, where the skies are clear, the ocean is cold, and the backyard is small. These days, all of our kids have graduated from high school, and we’ve traded suburbia life for the quiet beauty of the country. The Texas skies are still clear, the flowers are sweeter, and the backyard stretches as far as the eye can see. Because Whispering Script is a digital agency, I have the freedom to work from anywhere.
Whispering Script became the bridge between my two worlds — the professional passion I’d always had and the family life I cherished. It’s a business that lets me create, connect, and make brands shine — all while being present for the people (and pets) who matter most.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running my own company has its bumps in the road, but it gives me the perspective and passion to help small businesses grow. I understand the challenges, the hustle, and the heart it takes to keep things moving. That’s why I pour that same energy into every client I work with — helping them reach their sales goals, which in turn helps me reach mine.
We’ve been impressed with Whispering Script, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Whispering Script is a digital advertising company that specializes in running Google Ads for small and mid-sized businesses. As a Google Ads–certified advertiser, I’ve had the opportunity to manage and optimize campaigns with over a million dollars in ad spend — helping clients attract the right leads, at the right time, for the right price.
My goal is to bring the leads in; their job is to close the sale — and there’s nothing more exciting than hearing a client say, “We just broke our sales record!”
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the consistency and trust that Whispering Script has built. Every ad I run carries the same goal — to turn visibility into growth and clicks into real-world results.
Beyond advertising, I’m also working on a creative project called KennaBella — a children’s book and possible video series in development. It’s a passion project that ties storytelling, imagination, and design together in a whole new way. I’ll be my own marketer.
At its heart, Whispering Script is about helping brands tell their story — whether it’s through strategic digital ads or creative storytelling that inspires connection.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve been lucky to have incredible mentors in both writing and ad management, but my biggest advocate has always been my husband. He’s Texas-born, raised, and every bit the entrepreneur. When I told him I was thinking about starting my own business, a brand-new laptop appeared on the front porch with a simple note that said, “Go for it.”
My mom and sister have been right there with me, cheering me on every step of the way. My sister, in particular, became my unofficial editor while I was setting up my social platforms and website. She never hesitated to say, “Nope, that’s dumb—rewrite it.” Her honesty made everything sharper and better.
And then there are the kids—my biggest fans, or maybe just happy I’m home to clean up and wash all their dishes. Either way, their smiles remind me why I do what I do.
