Meet Dr. Stan Okeke of Pulse Check Rehab and Performance LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Stan Okeke.

Hi Dr. Stan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My love for sports, community, and impactful growth has led me to the position I’m in today.
While playing sports in college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare—one that was meaningful and fostered growth for all individuals. At the time, I wasn’t exactly sure what that looked like.
That changed when I had the opportunity to be treated by a sports physical therapist who not only helped me recover but also inspired me with his dedication. He owned his own practice and worked with both NFL and NBA teams. Observing his work firsthand and experiencing the results personally, I knew that sports physical therapy—and eventually opening my own practice—was the path I wanted to follow.
Pulse Check was born out of that vision. It embodies resurgence, growth, and healing. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or simply looking to enhance your overall performance, Pulse Check is all for one, and one for all.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has been both challenging and rewarding. I believe my challenges and rewards are deeply connected — both depend on my mindset and my willingness to learn. From the beginning to where I am now, there have been obstacles, and I know there will continue to be more to overcome.
The biggest obstacle I faced was simply starting — and how I started. Before opening Pulse Check, I had been employed with the same company for several years. During the pandemic, I was unfortunately laid off, which ultimately led me to create my business plan. I was unemployed for a year, but that year became an opportunity to prepare and plan for launching my own business.
The process of starting was incredibly challenging, whether it was overcoming mental, financial, or physical obstacles. However, each of those challenges has shaped me and paved the way for the position I’m in today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
