Today we’d like to introduce you to Jan Touchberry.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve spent most of my adult life in vocational ministry — it just felt natural. I’m a preacher’s kid, after all. But I’m also wired for action. Vision. Momentum. So during one particular season of ministry where I felt stuck (bored, if we’re being honest), I did what most “always-doing” people do — I started something new.
I dipped my toe into network marketing. But… the company I joined had zero systems. No digital strategy. No tools to help me or my team actually grow online. So I built them myself.
Once I created those systems, people started asking me to do the same for them. That’s when the shift started. Little by little, I did less selling and more building. Less network marketing, more business designing. I realized: this is what I love. Helping entrepreneurs get their digital back-end in order — so they can stop spinning their wheels and finally do the work they’re called to do.
Somewhere in that process, the podcast was born. It gave me a way to share what I was learning, speak life into women building something from scratch, and offer practical guidance for the messy middle. It became a space to process in real-time, encourage others, and remind women they’re not crazy for wanting to build with purpose instead of pressure.
I like to say I help women do the hard, behind-the-scenes stuff that most business owners avoid — so they can finally feel free to do the work they were created for. That’s what lights me up. That’s what I keep showing up for.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? LOL — has it been for anyone?
Every business owner I know has hit their fair share of potholes, and I’m no exception. One of my biggest challenges has been staying grounded in what my people actually need — not just running with every shiny new idea that pops into my head.
I’m a learner by nature. I love growth, fresh ideas, new strategies — all of it. But early on, I realized that if I wasn’t careful, I’d end up creating things that didn’t actually serve the people I was called to help. So I’ve had to train myself to pause. To listen. To look for patterns. To ask, “What are they really struggling with?” — and build from that place.
It sounds simple, but it’s not. It takes humility, discernment, and a whole lot of leaning into the Lord for redirecting my plans. But that’s the work. And it’s worth it.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Here’s what I want people to know about my work: I help women untangle the mess.
Most of the women I work with didn’t start their business because they love tech. They started because they had a gift — something they knew God was calling them to share. But somewhere along the way, things got complicated. The website doesn’t reflect who they are. The backend feels like a disaster. They’re overwhelmed by tools, strategies, and advice that don’t actually help.
That’s where I come in.
In my “former life,” I was a doula — helping women birth their babies. Recently, a client looked at me mid-meeting and said, “You’re still a doula. You help people birth their businesses.” And the more I sit with that analogy, the more true it feels. I see it everywhere now. This work — the holding space, the guiding, the knowing when to push and when to pause — it’s the same.
People tell me I bring calm to their chaos. That I ask the right questions. That I actually listen — and build something that reflects them, not just what everyone else is doing.
I’m a faith-forward brand strategist and website designer, and I help women get their business systems clear, clean, and aligned. I build sites that feel like home. I map out workflows that make sense. I create structure where there’s been chaos — and not just so things look pretty, but so they work.
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise? Honestly, that my clients feel seen. They don’t walk away with just a website — they walk away with confidence. With clarity. With momentum. That matters to me more than any trend or template ever will.
If you’re a woman who feels called to do this work — but your systems and strategy aren’t lining up with your vision — that’s what I’m here for.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If there’s one thing I want to leave the readers with, it’s this: you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started. And you don’t have to wait until it’s perfect to take the next step.
So many women stay stuck because they’re overwhelmed or afraid they’ll do it wrong. I get it. I’ve been there. But clarity doesn’t usually show up all at once — it shows up as you move. One step at a time.
If God’s put something on your heart to build — trust that He’s also going to equip you as you go. Not before. Not once you’ve mapped it all out. As you go. That part’s hard, but it’s also where the faith comes in.
Start messy if you need to. Start ugly. Start scared. Start slower than you thought you would. Just start!
Your gifts matter. Your work matters. And the people you’re meant to serve matter! They’re not looking for perfect— they’re looking for someone that’s present. They’re looking for someone willing to show up and serve, even before all the ducks feel in a row.
So do the hard thing. The uncomfortable thing. The thing you’ve been circling around for way too long. It really does matter, and there is something missing in the world if you don’t.
