Hi Caroline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve loved to travel for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are of family trips that sparked my curiosity about the world and how people live in different places. That love for discovery deepened even more in college when I studied abroad in Costa Rica. Experiencing another culture firsthand was incredibly eye-opening and taught me how travel can completely shift your perspective and appreciation for the world.
A longtime family friend who worked as our travel agent helped me get started in the travel industry and encouraged me to pursue my passion. Joining Cruise Planners allowed me to combine my love for adventure with my organizational skills and attention to detail, creating seamless, thoughtful itineraries that draw on my personal travel experiences in more than 30 countries. Whether it’s an adventure-filled getaway, a Disney vacation, or a relaxing all-inclusive escape, I love knowing the trips I plan often become memories that last a lifetime.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. Balancing my career as a pediatric nurse with building my business has had its challenges, especially in the beginning. But those experiences have taught me how to manage my time, stay organized, and focus on helping clients create meaningful travel experiences.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a travel agent with Cruise Planners, but despite the name, I plan all types of travel, not just cruises! I specialize in adventure travel and love helping clients experience the world in a way that’s meaningful, exciting, and stress-free.
My clients often tell me that they appreciate how detail oriented I am and how easy I make the entire planning process. I know travel can feel overwhelming, especially with so many options out there, so my goal is to take the stress off their shoulders so they can just enjoy the experience.
One of my proudest moments so far was planning an engagement trip to Alaska. It was full of adventure, incredible scenery, and best of all, she said yes! Those kinds of moments remind me of why I love what I do. What really sets me apart is my genuine love for adventure and my eye for finding unique cultural experiences that go beyond the typical tourist spots. I want every client to come home with memories that feel personal and unforgettable.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was definitely a curious kid, always planning and dreaming about the next adventure. I was fortunate to travel frequently with my family, so I caught the “travel bug” early on. I love exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and experiencing new flavors.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of snorkeling alongside turtles and stingrays. Those experiences gave me such an appreciation for the world’s beauty and how much there is to explore. Looking back, that curiosity and love for exploring really shaped who I am today. It’s what led me to want to help other people experience that same sense of excitement and connection through travel.
