Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Perez.
Hi Sarah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a French professional dancer.
I moved to New York when I was 18 to attend a dance school. I came alone, without knowing anyone, and without speaking English.
I graduated in 2021, and since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many amazing projects — including a photoshoot for Sony Alpha, performing at Madison Square Garden for Maître Gims’ opening, working with brands like Universal Studios, and touring around the world with the Streb Extreme Action Company.
Now, as 2025 comes to an end, after more than 7 years in New York, I feel like I’ve lived my dream here. But I’m ready for a new goal, a new chapter. So I’ve decided to return to France and see what’s waiting for me there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The dance world is tough because it’s an art — and art is subjective. You have to accept failing many auditions before finally landing one. But that’s part of the job.
It’s about knowing how to present yourself, how to show the best version of who you are. Never giving up, and always working to improve, no matter what.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multidisciplinary dancer, trained in hip-hop, contemporary, and ballet.
I also do acrobatics, which adds another dimension to my profile.
I love learning new things, exploring different techniques, and constantly pushing my limits.
For certain projects, I had to learn how to sing. I also trained as a stunt performer and circus artist for a company I worked with for two years.
We performed on metal machines spinning over 7 meters high — with no harnesses, no safety equipment only thanks to your strength and technique . You learn and practice how to manage your fear, to trust yourself, and to keep pushing beyond your limits.
And that’s the part I’m most proud of.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being true to yourself, staying open-minded, and accepting feedback are key.
Be proud of who you are — but always strive to grow and become even better.
