Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah.
Hi Sarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After spending five years in public education, the pandemic hit, and I realized a career change was a necessity. I’ve always loved tech, and I had already dabbled in coding, completed a developer bootcamp, and eventually found my way into Squarespace design. Through that journey, I discovered a way to blend creativity, technology, and teaching into a business to help my community.
I’ve always been passionate about learning new things and approaching life with a growth mindset. Working in tech means there’s always something new to master, and I thrive on that. Recently, I’ve been exploring how SEO works with AI summaries and diving deeper into UX and accessibility.
As I build my client base through word of mouth, social media, and blogging, I have begun to see real growth. Each project gives me the chance to learn, improve, and create a better experience for my clients. Today, my goal is to continue expanding Canyon Route Design into a trusted local resource for ongoing education and individualized website support. A place where business owners feel empowered, not overwhelmed, by technology.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I first started my business, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. My work-life balance disappeared. I was constantly torn between trying to make enough to pay bills, spending time with family, and getting my business off the ground. Like many new entrepreneurs, I experienced that discouraging silence when my calendar was empty for months. But with some time, persistence, and a lot of learning, things began to change. After investing in training and partnering with another business owner, I gained clarity, confidence, and momentum. I also learned that slow seasons aren’t failures; they’re a part of the process.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Canyon Route Design, we create custom Squarespace websites that are both strategic and practical, designed to grow with your business. Every project starts with a one-on-one consultation to understand your goals, and from there, we guide you through the whole process.
What really sets us apart is our ongoing support: we stick around long after launch to answer questions, provide training, and help clients who already have a Squarespace site, even if we didn’t build it.
At the end of the day, our focus is on creating user-friendly, future-proof websites that make sense, stand out, and give our clients the confidence they need to manage and grow their online presence.
