Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Escobar.
Hi Jose , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is a reflection of what millions of people in Dallas experienced during pandemic, but with a pivot toward opportunity. It all began in June 2020. My hours at my previous job were being cut, job uncertainty was high due layoffs, and my priority quickly became finding a way to provide for my family.
That necessity forced me to actively search for a solution, and that’s when I discovered the financial service industry. I quickly realized that, in our community, talking about finances is often a taboo or a topic that is simply ignored, even at home. I saw a gap and urgent need for financial education and access within our demographic.
The path, however, was filled with significant hurdles. I hadn’t studied since high school, so the first barrier was getting certified and licensed, diving back into books with the pressure to do quickly. On top of that was the language barrier: at that time, I didn’t speak English. And perhaps the greatest challenge was self-restructuring- the deep personal grow required to acquire the right mindset for this business.
Today, thanks to discipline and vision, we have turned those challenges into our foundation. We have managed not only to stabilize my family but also to bring that critical financial education to the greater Dallas community, empowering other families to take control of their economic futures. That is the mission that drives me every single day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our biggest obstacle has been breaking the financial taboo we identified at the very beginning. It’s not just about teaching; it’s about earning trust within a community where the financial industry is often viewed with suspicion or perceived as something ‘only for the wealthy’. The concrete struggle: We had to dedicate an enormous amount time to one-on-one education, demystifying terms and showing tangible examples, rather than just selling a product. This initially slowed our growth, but it build an incredibly loyal and long-lasting client base.
As an entrepreneur, the toughest decisions fall entirely on you. There were moments of intense self-doubt-questioning whether family and personal sacrifice was worth it. The need for personal restructuring was constant. It required learning to delegate, handling failure without becoming paralyzed by it,and having to invest time and money in coaching and development, which is always difficult when resources are limited.
Dallas is a financial hub. Entering as a new player, without massive marketing capital and serving a specific niche, presented a major visibility challenge. Each of these challenges has taught us invaluable lessons and has made us stronger, smarter, and more relevant to the community we serve in Dallas.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Yes absolutely. For a entrepreneur, your professional network is as vital as your capital. My advise focuses less on the quantity of contacts and more on the quality and intention behind the connection.
Finding a mentor: My main advice is to shift your mindset from finding a mentor to finding the right person for a specific stage.
Be intentional and Value-Driven no body has time for a passive mentorship.
The success we’ve achieved today rests on three core pillars: mindset, niche focus, and intentional networking
