Community Highlights: Meet Miriam Parra of Stone Impressions of Texas,LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miriam Parra.

Hi Miriam, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my own company in March 2019, but I was blessed to initially start in the industry working for Daltile Stone Center in 2005 where I really learned all the ins and out of stone taking all the classes & certifications Daltile offered along with learning architectural plan readings.,and I really fell in love with the beauty and process of natural stones, etc. and seeing the entire process from quarry to shipping overseas and the beautiful kitchen transformations with the stones. As we all know a kitchen is “the heart of the home” where we make many memories and bring our loved ones together with all the wonderful meals prepared and making it aesthetically beautiful is just a PLUS.

I genuinely love people, working and serving them, being part of such an important transformation really fulfills my heart and I consider myself very blessed to be able to make a business out of my true passion. No two projects are alike and guiding my clients through the design process and putting it all together is my drive all while having my amazing team of craftsmen doing all the elite fabrication and installation-I always say they are the REAL MVPS! It really takes a good and dedicated team with integrity that cares to deliver a beautiful execution. It really started with the love for kitchen countertops, but we do many fun projects with stone in fireplaces, bars, all the way to custom surfaces in both residential and commercial. Stone surfaces are really ENDLESS.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Frankly NO, at first it was tough getting any clients as I was a new business and no one really knew me or my work and I recall passing out flyers, business cards to anyone I came across along with using the amazing social media platforms which helped tremendously. Estimating and learning to be profitable yet affordable I’d say was also another challenge, and there was always something new to learn as far as technology with the CNC waterject machine used to fabricate, and there were very custom projects that were a challenge as well but I was very resourceful and always found a way to get the best results. Keeping up with what new stones were out there as well and being able to be “different” from the competition.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Stone Impressions of Texas,LLC?
We do all elite stone fabrication surfaces and design consulting within. We do anywhere from countertops to the most custom stone applications.

What sets my company apart from others is that I am very “boutique” style fabricator & designer all in one. It’s very personable and one-on-one guiding my clients through the amazing stone selection process, and really allowing them to explore all their options, seeing their vision and offering the absolute best all around. We don’t just cut our stone and install we are very dedicated to what our clients need and want-making it beautiful and practical in both residential and commercial. We genuinely get to know our clients and narrow down the best options.

I am most proud of creating a business out of pure passion and drive starting from scratch, no handouts, loans or anyone to guide me. My daughter, Kassandra, was my biggest motivation. I wanted more time freedom to be a present mother and now 6 years in with all the hard work and dedication I am able to do so.

I would love our readers to know that we are an elite stone fabricating company that genuinely loves to make their spaces beautiful, making it a smooth process for them, and that we care about their vision and home as much as ours. We are a godly based business and work with integrity.

How do you define success?
Success to me is “fulfillment, all while having the time freedom to do what you love with whom you love”
Business without heart means nothing to me-reason I think I thrive because I genuinely pour my heart out in every project.
