Today we’d like to introduce you to Vlad Gregorovich.
Vlad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into photography sparked during a Marine Corps deployment, where I grabbed a camera to freeze fleeting moments such as landscapes, comrades, and beauty amid chaos. It became my anchor.
Stateside on base, I kept shooting in downtime, sharpening my skills. After honorable discharge, I moved to Utah in 2020 to keep my mom company. The state’s epic canyons and skies ignited a passion, leading me to begin my commercial photography degree at Salt Lake Community College, mastering lighting, editing, and visual storytelling.
In 2023, I relocated to Texas to finish my degree at Collin College and to be closer to friends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Transitioning from military to civilian life is definitely tough and comes with its own share of burdens. I’ve spent the last few years trying to get my footing. The road has definitely had its ups and downs but God showed me the way through tough times and I am where I am thanks to Him.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a commercial photographer in Texas, specializing in product photography and cinematic portraits. I focus on capturing every detail in product shots—making equipment or items appear exceptional for brands—and I create dramatic, narrative-driven portraits that reveal genuine emotion in subjects.
People recognize my style as “cinematic precision”: precise, clear work with a compelling narrative quality, derived from the discipline I gained in the Marine Corps. It engages viewers deeply.
The achievement I’m most proud of is being featured in the Kaleidoscope Gallery Show at Collin College. My pieces there integrated authentic emotion with exact technical skill, and it prompted visitors to engage in conversations—truly rewarding.
What makes me different? The attention to detail from the Marine Corps remains with me; I strive for excellence in every project. I approach each shoot methodically—like a mission—by scouting lighting conditions and refining edits thoroughly, resulting in images with profound depth where products gain vitality and portraits convey strong impact.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risks are part of the mission, but they’re smartest when backed by discipline. I’m not a daredevil, but I know stagnation comes from playing it too safe; real progress means embracing the unknown. My big risks? Enlisting into the Marine Corps straight out of high school, trading comfort for the intensity of training and deployment. I think that really built my core resilience. Then, post-discharge, betting on photography by diving into my degree with no sure outcome. Moving to Utah in 2020 to be with my mom, and to Texas in 2023 to wrap it up remotely, meant uprooting twice in three years, trusting new places to spark my creativity. Each was deliberate, drawing on service-honed skills to mitigate downsides. Now, I apply it to my work: pushing for that bold shot in tough light, with backups ready. To me it’s not just about thrill-seeking, it’s also about unlocking what’s next.
