Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittani Andrews.
Brittani, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My aspiration to become a therapist began in high school. I’ve always been a naturally sociable person, and people felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings with me. I’ve been fascinated by the factors that shape individuals how they were raised, their thought processes, and what experiences have influenced their identities. I believe that therapy is one of the most effective ways to explore and understand a person’s journey. My commitment to the field of therapy has remained strong, and my passion for helping others has seamlessly integrated into my career.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has certainly not been a smooth one; it requires a great deal of commitment and dedication. However, I believe that the hard work will eventually pay off. I had to make sacrifices in my relationships with family and friends to ensure that I could achieve my goals. While it’s impossible to help everyone, my aim is to make a meaningful impact whenever I can.
We’ve been impressed with Brittani’s Counseling Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My experience spans various settings, including private practices, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment programs, residential facilities, and acute inpatient psychiatric hospitals, working with individuals aged 4 and older. During this time, I’ve honed my skills in integrating individual, group, and family therapy services to provide the best possible treatment for my clients. I’ve also had the privilege of working with professional athletes, which has further expanded my understanding of the unique challenges faced by adolescents, couples, families, and athletes. My treatment offers: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person Centered. I also incorporate a diverse range of therapeutic techniques, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Art Therapy, and many others, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. I stand out because I offer Walk Talk Therapy as well. Why Choose “Walk/Talk Therapy”? Traditional office sessions can sometimes feel restrictive and uncomfortable for some people. To address this, I offer a unique opportunity to conduct in-person therapy in a more open and relaxed environment. By meeting at a coffee shop or park and going for a walk together, we can break down the walls of discomfort.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is being able to help people make sense of their life situations and circumstances to help them unpack their experiences and understand the roots of who they are today. I care deeply about supporting others, and I believe this kind of work should come from genuine compassion, not just for a paycheck. What truly matters is that people are receiving the help they need through my services. And if they’re not, I want to know. I’m always open to feedback and eager to learn how I can improve and make a greater impact.
