Exploring Life & Business with Adeline Merrick of Merrick Multimedia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adeline Merrick.

Hi Adeline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My wife Valerie and I started Merrick Multimedia with one goal: to provide an authentic, intentional alternative to stale corporate images. Our photography and videography highlights the real stories happening in small businesses, nonprofits, and growing brands. Companies deserve a creative team that is genuinely invested in their client’s success. Therefore, our mission has always been to create a comfortable and collaborative experience to deliver a final gallery that reflects the story of your team.

As former teachers, we know how to organize chaos! After listening to your vision for the shoot, Valerie and I create timelines, shot lists, and a plan for the day of. Our education background also means that we are constantly learning about how to create the best possible experience. Our goal is to make people feel amazing about how they appear in photos so we are always expanding our knowledge about posing, directing, and editing to ensure all of our clients see their content and think “Wow!”

Today, Merrick Multimedia partners with small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to create imagery that captures their mission, people, and the impact they’re making. From rebranding shoots that double online engagement to event coverage that amplifies a nonprofit’s fundraiser, we see every project as a chance to help our clients grow. We specialize in visuals that capture your brand’s identity and heart. Event photography and videography, branding sessions and professional headshots help curate your online presence and make sure that your advertising is reaching the right clients.

For us, content creation is a partnership. Every photo and video is designed to support your mission, strengthen your marketing, and celebrate the people who make it all possible.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are so many incredible organizations we want to partner with and it’s honestly one of the best parts of what we do. But that also means we’re constantly balancing how to serve small businesses and nonprofits in a way that’s both sustainable for us and accessible for them. We know that many community-driven organizations operate with limited budgets, and their stories deserve to be told with high-quality photography and videography.

Finding that balance between charging fair prices that honor the time, experience, and equipment required to do our work while still offering the support and flexibility we want to provide local companies and nonprofits has been one of our biggest challenges. As a small business ourselves, we understand the struggle between investing in your business and paying the bills. Our commitment to accessibility hasn’t changed, and it won’t. Over time, we have learned to get creative by building custom, scalable packages and focusing on long-term partnerships instead of one-off transactions.

Growth has also meant learning to streamline our processes, set boundaries and build a team that reflects our values of empathy, collaboration, and excellence. We are proud of how far we’ve come and we are even more excited about building a future that continues supporting organizations we love!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Merrick Multimedia?
Merrick Multimedia is a photography and videography studio built on connection, collaboration, and authentic storytelling. We specialize in helping small businesses, nonprofits, and corporate teams tell their stories through high-quality visuals that inspire trust and expand your online presence. Whether it’s a branding session that redefines a company’s website, event coverage that celebrates community impact, or a headshot series that highlights the people behind the mission, our focus is on creating media that highlights who you are as a brand.

What sets us apart is how we work. We show up as partners first, and media professionals second. Valerie and I take the time to understand your goals, audience, core values and what success looks like for you. From pre-planning and shot lists to editing and delivery, every detail is intentional and designed to make your brand shine.
Valerie and I genuinely love helping people feel confident in front of the camera. We bring the energy and organization necessary to make the most of our photo and filming day!

We’re proud of the relationships we’ve built with local businesses and nonprofits in Texas and across the U.S. Our clients trust us to deliver exceptional results that tell their stories with heart, integrity, and creativity.
If there’s one thing we want readers to know, it’s this: great visuals aren’t just about looking professional—they’re about communicating who you are and why you matter. We help you do exactly that.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
When we first started Merrick Multimedia, we thought success would come from having the highest quality equipment and the perfect systems in place to care for our clients. In reality, growth comes from showing up consistently and learning from every shoot.

Our best advice is to invest in your communication even more than you continue learning the craft of photography and videography. You might capture the highest-quality content in the world, but that won’t matter if your gallery doesn’t have a story. At Merrick Multimedia, we deliver professional quality with a genuine relationship.

Getting to know our clients before ever picking up a camera at their shoot is the foundation of how we operate. Authentic storytelling is what makes the difference between static images on your website and a truly attractive brand that makes people want to donate to your nonprofit or work alongside your organization.
Every project, no matter the size, is a chance to build trust, refine your voice, and move one step closer to the creative you want to become.
