Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Lee.
Hi Jason, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Turbo Metabolic Training has literally been an idea years in the making. I got my degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science from FSU, and played sports up through college, so I’ve always loved the fitness industry and dreamed of opening up my own gym. I’ve had other successful fitness businesses, but Morgan and I were really searching for the right community. Visiting my brother in the Prosper/Celina area over the last few years, we saw a need for intelligent, functional, full body training. We fell in love with the area and thought we could grow with the community, which was really appetizing to us.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening TMT has been a huge challenge. Honestly, It still is. I think opening up a small business, especially if you’re not a franchise, takes patience and time to gain trust with the surrounding area. Personally, a challenge has been the lack of personal time spent with my wife, Morgan. We havent’ had a vacation in over a year! But we knew we would have to buckle down for a couple of years to make this work. We hope we get recognized by the community for the work we’re doing, and continue to grow organically and surround ourselves with a fantastic fitness family! Hard work pays off!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Turbo Metabolic Training?
The Definition of Metabolic Training is a type of workout that maximizes calorie burn during and after workouts using intense compound exercises to increase metabolism efficiency. Easy definition is it’s, basically, strength training at a pace. You’ll get strength work, cardio, muscular endurance, core and postural strengthening and mobility all in the same daily workout. Our workouts are designed for any age group really. We have clients and members as young as 13 and as old as 62. We have high school athletes improve in their sport by taking our general fitness classes. There’s modifications and progressions for any movement, so literally anyone can do our workouts!
We offer 29 full body, functional strength classes per week. Classes are 45-50min in and out the door. We also offer nutrition coaching, one-on-one personal training, younger athlete sport specific training, and Titleist Performance Institute Golf Assessments and training.
I think what sets us apart is our programming and coaching. Functional, full body, balanced workouts are not the easiest to program, but I believe we’re doing an excellent job. And we coach as if every inch matters, when It comes to form and positioning. The combination of being diligent in those two areas had led to our clients getting fantastic results!
What does success mean to you?
In the fitness industry, and in the world around us, success is often defined by how much money you’re making. But what drives me is helping people feel their best! Nothing is more satisfying to me than seeing someone’s body change, posture improve, and strength and energy increase. I love being able to have that impact! We have really worked hard over the years to get people balanced and out of pain. That’s where It needs to start. It’s hard to raise your intensity in class without knowing what imbalances you have and working on them on a daily basis. Most of our clients have gotten really great results!
