Hi Devont’e, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my DJing career at 16, utilizing my sister’s computer to download OTS Turntables. My passion for music originated in church, where I played drums & sang in the choir. Musically inclined, I studied DJs & spent countless hours practicing on my laptop. I invited friends over to listen & eventually began performing at clubs. At 16, I DJed at the Main Event Club alongside Fred Flinstone. I then transitioned to Cloud 9, a strip club, before joining forces with DJ KG & DJ Hollywood.
After several years, I resumed my DJ career, purchasing my own equipment through DJ Reggie Bell. This investment enabled me to become my own boss. I worked with Hollywood Productions for two years before expanding my portfolio. I DJed for Ned E. Williams, catering to small events for students, the Kilgore College Basketball Team, & Student Council. My performance led to a television appearance on ESPN.
I have collaborated with notable artists, including: BeatKing, Spider Gang TEC, HeadHuncho Amir, DJ TLewis, Bay Bay, & more!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
“Get knocked down 9 times, get up 10” life has it’s ups and downs, but through it all it’s all for the good! Learning situations, fumbles, and negative happens. Thats what life is all about! Ima risk taker so ima bet my last on myself everytime.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Im a recording artist, dj, and a flag football coach. I also do graphics, and promote events. I am musically inclined, I have been playing music since the age of 5 years old. I love my drive, how I can go from nothing to something in a short period of time.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My energy, my aura. The essence of music, all those elements combined. I’m unstoppable. That’s what I feel is more important.
