Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Davis.
Hi Brandon , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Formerly the Managing Partner of JayChris Management, the Texas-based private equity firm founded by professional baseball player Vernon Wells, Brandon’s experience with JayChris evolved into the creation of his own private equity fund, Mister C Investment Partners, an independent sponsor private equity firm whose primary focus is on media and entertainment across all verticals of the industry.
With an extensive background in investment management and corporate strategy, Brandon continues to play a vital role as an acting director for both the U.S. and Canadian operations of Project 10, while also leading and managing a diverse portfolio of ventures within the entertainment sector. His investment portfolio extends beyond media and entertainment to include companies in consumer packaged goods, sports equipment, and professional sports team ownership. Brandon has successfully led multiple acquisitions to expand these holdings and overseen a number of profitable exits, demonstrating a consistent ability to identify value and drive growth across diverse industries.
A strategic advisor to Project 10 Productions for the past 10 years, Brandon Davis has been instrumental in guiding the company’s growth and expansion across the entertainment industry. He currently serves as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Project 10 Productions, an Emmy Award–winning television production company, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Redlab, a leading post-production facility. In addition, Brandon is the Managing Partner/President of JACK Winery and Two Old Dogs Cellars.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is never smooth, and if it is, you are not taking risks. The cyclical nature of the industries that we invest in, to the volatility of consumer sentiment always throws curveballs at us. This is the part that makes it interesting. My investment thesis has always been invest in the person not the product, if you believe in someone and what they can do, then they will never fail. This has lead to a lot of success for us, and will continue to be a core operating principle of mine.

Mister C Investment Partners is a independent sponsor private equity firm primarily focused in the media and entertainment industry. We look for highly performant companies that fit as an independent producer, infrastructure, IP, talent management, looking for strategic investors to inject capital and experience into their business. Our primary focus is outside of the United States, in highly favorable Tax Credit jurisdictions such as Canada, UK, Ireland and Austrailia. We are best known for our Canadian production company, Project 10 Productions, who executive produced Schitts Creek. We take a talent first approach when it comes to television production, which has given us a stellar reputation in the entertainment industry – and because of the success of Schitts Creek, we are now able to pick and choose what we want to work on and who we want to work with.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Tenacity, Consistency, Risk Tolerence, Resilience, Determination, accepting failure and learning to harness it to success.
